RE: Black Widow and the Disney numbers12 Jul 2021 16:48
That's as specific as it gets.
"Excellent opening Box Office for Black Widow over the past weekend with yet another post pandemic Box Office Record in the US and Canada with $80 Million booked and there should be a good Cume to accumulate and follow.
But then unlike with Cruella, Disney decided to announce also that they had taken a further $60 Million off screening Black Widow on Disney Plus for $30 a go.
I think most took it that an additional $60M had also come from the US and Canada, and was at the direct expense of cinemas in those two countries. Toa degree that will have been the case.
However if you actually delving a bit deeper beneath the surface then you find that is not the full picture. Disney Plus in actual fact was available in the following countries
US,
Canada,
the Netherlands,
Austria,
Germany,
Italy,
Spain,
Switzerland,
France,
India,
Belgium,
Denmark,
Iceland,
Finland,
Norway,
Portugal,
Sweden,
United Kingdom,
Ireland,
Isle of Man,
Monaco,
Wallis and Futuna,
French West Indies,
French Guiana,
New Caledonia,
Japan,
Indonesia,
Latin America,
Réunion,
Mayotte,
Mauritius and
Singapore,
So if you were therefore to spread approximately 2 million total customers paying for $30 to see Black Widow over population of those countries then it gives a totally different perspective altogether.

Singapore incidentally has been recently added, Hong Kong and South Korea are still to go online.
** Interestingly** the DisneyPlus Singapore website isn't exclusively looking to get you to watch the film on streaming either as it gives you the option to book tickets online.

Green coffins now so no point in asking any further questions or dialogue as you will only be wasting your own time.
