Digital Cinema Media is a 50-50 Joint venture between Cineworld and Odeon (AMC). No others involved. FYI.

It just looks like bad market day today with both the US and Asian markets down overnight and some of the last two days gains being given up.

Just with the usual over exaggerated falls on @CINE (compared to everyone else).

It would be nice if we do get some insight over the next few days into what exactly did happen yesterday.

Some good work on that discovery re J+J, HNS and it is one I think carries merit and you should find a way for it to be conveyed through to the BoD just in case it is overlooked. Those who watched the court case saw how Cplex tried to saddle Cineworld with about an extra $200M to cover all their lockdown costs and given the sum involved there should be no stone left unturned to minimise any award amounts. There is no playing nice guys when it comes to business.

AMC also if they are wise (and competitive) are probably looking to turn the screw on Cineplex and I would prefer to think given the dirty washing of the court case that they are looking to open their own cinemas in competition. I looked yesterday and CPlex I don't think have turned a profit and were still burning cash at Q3 and that will just have gone up what with closures, capacity restrictions and inability to serve concession food. At a time they should be capitalising like ourselves off Spiderman then they are not.

From memory, although AMC and Cineworld are main competitors they are both involved together in Digital Cinema Media, the on screen advertising company.

My opinion has changed and I think we will start to see reductions. It almost looks like desperation trying to keep the price down.

Further RS2002 you should get some further empirical data on UK Box office courtesy of Everyman Media if it follows its pattern of a mid-January trading update. Spiderman No Way Home and no cinema closures should have iced the cake imho.

It isn't a pump and yes there is improved Box Office probably behind this.

But if I were to hazard a guess an Institution with a lot of shares has been consistently lending them out to crash the price and having loaded up, closed the door on lending out their stock and are buying back. One packet made on the way down. Another made on the way back up. I am happy to make my own guess Who?

Most manipulated stock in this market and it will pass without any investigation, as always.

the realinvestory, For the first time in a very long while there is no real downward selling pressure. Shorters had plenty opportunity to close from the court case result with somebody readily having fed them shares into the market from 124p to help them. It looks though like as of today that feeding has presently dried up. Across the back of that somebody is buying to increase the price. Imho

not down by 7%, and you would have expected it to stay in line with the rest of the FTSE 250 market. Easy pick up of stock off small algo trades for somebody. I suspect it allowed the market makers (and anybody else) to pick up stock and profit from selling it on with a share buyback program in operation.

CR888 maybe post a litttle less and with a bit more considered. DARK don't announce when its updates are but you only need to add 3 months for an approximate date for the next quarterly update.

The volume incidentally is not indicating a short squeeze, hence I think one of our stock lenders decided to close the door having bagged all they can get and is now buying in the market to take the price back up.

If only...

I suspect that whoever was lending out all those shares got their entry price, and then closed the door to any further lending. Yesterday, twice todays volume thus far, only generated a 2% rise yesterday.

Sometimes you just have to go with your gut for how you yourself perceive the fundamentals are playing out.

Somebody has manipulated this stock beyond belief and is probably set to profit very handsomely indeed on the way back up.

Market abuse, probably imho. Criminally, probably imho.

Nice to see them giving back the rise that should have happened yesterday and which imho was stolen and with somebody picking up the bulk of 20 million shares traded yesterday.

Must be due them also giving back the rise that should have happened with Spiderman No Way Home and its massive Box office.

Dips and delayed rises have been happening here since cinemas reopened and with constantly improving Box Office.

Let the placing settle for about a month, take out the weak sellers and then move it back up.

Fair value has to be a lot higher given the year ahead.

Traders have been replaced here with longer term investors imho

Somebody has been deliberately picking as much as they can in the 7p's (and under the 8p placing price). But the volume has been drying up with limited selling and people eyeing up what should be a fantastic year ahead for VLS.

Placing out the way the market makers will be targeting a massive increase in volume in the 8.5p to 9p range (allowing those placees that want to profit a fair return)

Just my wider view on things.

Must be a realistic prospect what with a strong start to the New Year, the strength in the oil price and a January trading update to come, unless I have my wires crossed.
