I may be wrong, but from memory the new "governance framework" came into effect from 1 Jan 2019 - and also remember reading there would need to be 12 months of this before a main listing?
(I may be talking b*****s though).
Back to my book: "Oil Strike North Sea" by Mike Shepherd. (A geologist with 30 years experience in the oil industry).
Sounds familiar.
Didn't realise the first North Sea oil discovery on the UK side was found in "some minor fractures in the rock" - October 1966.
Thankyou both AD and Fitguy, similar thoughts.
"This share sometimes behaves quite illogically relative to news."
Yes, although having just watched a 90 min Fundsmith ASM on YouTube,
Terry Smith said:
1. "buy a good company"
2. "don't overpay"
3. "do nothing"
Now is probably time to do number 3, I'm not smart enough to second guess the vagaries of AIM.
FOIL RNS will be a consideration when timing ISA B&B though.
Thanks Cebo, only reason I asked was after reading OGA document, it reads as if flaring takes/can take place during commissioning?
"During the commissioning of production facilities flaring and venting consents will usually be restricted in
duration to between one and three months and will be for a fixed quantity of gas based on an auditable
programme. Once commissioning is complete and stable operating conditions have been achieved the
duration of the flaring consent will be increased and will be subject to an agreed cumulative maximum
for the period."
https://www.ogauthority.co.uk/licensing-consents/consents/flaring-and-venting/
I accept that it's not massively important in the grand scheme of things, but it could give rise to premature indication of FOIL.
My train of thought is:
Commissioning activity causes flaring
->Nearby vessel/rig observes this
-->Someone Posts on a BB
--->SP shoots up few days/weeks prematurely
ATB
LS.
Wonder if the first offload will be the same day as the AGM?
Apologies for such a basic question, but will there be evidence of commissioning phase in the form of gas flaring, possibly visible from neighbouring platforms/vessels?
If so, am I correct in thinking that this could be earlier than the oft quoted 21-22 days?
Dreamer203,
"led to believe" - Is not an astute way to proceed with investing.....
P.s I have some magic beans you may want to purchase.

Agreed.
Although wasn't so grateful to him when I was having to top up at 25 in December 2017!
Whether he is 100% impartial matters not, his CEO interviews with Dr T helped back up my research, particularly the one where Dr T answered the critics at Heriot-Watt.
I'm also glad I didn't invest following his CEO interviews and public speaking events with an O&G co, beginning with "E" who are now at 3.4p down from 19.45p.
Caveat emptor
GLA.
I think the draft has changed, previously it was 9m?
Suggests weigh of bouy is now pulling down...as of 3 mins ago?
If successful, would the company be obliged to announce hookup at earliest moment...or could it be issued once Dr T / associated senior personnel have visited eg, might any potential announcement be during the day on Tues or Weds 7am?
Thomas Staley - LinkedIn...
To be fair, this does look better than I've seen for many a week, (not the same as 100km west though obviously)

Quick straw poll...
No counting any chickens, but "IF" hookup successful, SP between 50 and 55 ?
Any different views?
Might be a repeat of last time..
Get halfway there and then turn around - SP seems to be sitting on the fence?
Brave people, wish them well whatever they decide.

Thanks ffc, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.
I've had to filter him to his recent disintegration.
ICL will say whatever suits their agenda.....and their particular production capabilities (IMO).
Remember the infamous Dan McCrum article? (which was well rebuked by Liberum)
"Indeed, at a New York investor conference in May, ICL chief finance officer Kobi Altman played down the prospects for polysulphate (with our emphasis):
"once we will reach one million tons, we will have a solid, nice – it's not going to be – we don't believe that this will ever be a huge product, but this is going to be a solid niche product that will go into the specific crops organic fertiliser. So, it's important for the organic space, that is growing nicely. But again, it's not going to be huge. I know that others might think that the potential of these products can be 10 million, 15 million tons. We don't believe that"
Is AIM such a casino that traders/*investors* wait until they think there's another hookup attempt imminent to buy HUR shares for a quick 5-10% profit? - Offer a kid a sweet today or a bag next week, and they'll take the sweet today?
Regarding hookup, if it occurs during the working week, is there a possibility that AIS can be turned off on the AM?
A bit like when it sailed past Yemen?
I gather some of the BoD are not the biggest fans of "shipwatchers" and might not want their "Hookup RNS" to be a damp squib (not squid).
"Sirius's shares leapt 9 per cent on this development, although the as-yet-unnamed bank still needs to complete its due diligence and internal approvals. Should this fall through, it’s not clear whether a “pause” in talks with other lenders can be easily resurrected, particularly with the Woodsmith project coffers set to run dry in a matter of months. Still, this news appears positive for our long-term buy call (23p, 25 January 2018), even if events are set to come down to the wire. Buy at 19.7p.
Last IC View: Buy, 20.4p, 23 Jan 2019"
As rope/weather is dragging on, I've been revisiting some fractured basement research.
One that may be of interest I found was this:
"Jarnsaxa is a Multi-billion-barrel prospect located offshore Denmark. The prospect is a play-opener in Denmark. It is a fractured basement prospect, with similarities to Lancaster Field being pursued by Hurricane Energy in the UK Faroe-Shetland Basin."
From what I can find it is still going to be drilled in 2019 (exploration well).
There is also a link at the bottom:
http://www.paetoro.com/fractured-basement.html
"What makes fractured reservoirs truly spectacular is their amazing connectivity. Hearing people talk about fractured reservoirs in the carbonates of the Middle East, it’s not uncommon to hear stories of wells some km distant seeing each other’s production within hours"
