thestreet,
Ever thought of writing for "The Motley Fool" ? - With your prescient insights you'd be well suited.
Toodle pip,
LS.
AD, Yes,
I use "HL" and as of today, under "Broker forecasts", we now have one entry:
Barclays Capital 17/05
Initiates/starts
Equal weight
75.00p
for completeness:
"Target prices are generally the price a broker expects the share to reach at some time over 12 months from when it is issued. Broker breakdown, consensus and notes provided by MoneyAM."
There's a poster on here called 'thestreet'
Just do the opposite to whatever he writes.
*start up
thestreet,
why Friday in particular?
Commissioning activities will take 3 weeks
Glad I WASN'T 'out of this over the weekend'
I'm here all summer.....
Boom!
If Dr T has been WoS involved with GWA, suspect he's in regular contact and/or visits to Aoka Mizu. As we're after oil, the fact that gas is being burnt is a 'clue' but not enough evidence to base an investment decision on, unless you are a trader who makes 39% in 5 years..... As such, whilst I'm privately pleased that it means everything is progressing as per guidance, I won't be upset if SP isn't up much tomorrow.
To maintain a news blackout around such a large vessel would be difficult/high on impossible?
After the shenanigans with SXX I'm just going to look in the mirror when a share doesn't perform as I want it to. As for the environmental campaigners....good luck putting up windmills and solar panels using your batter powered heavy plant equipment.
For what it's worth:
Contrast Lancaster : "Major bet" (IC) against "100% Chance of Commercial Success" (Edison)....
"Hurricane Energy (HUR) should soon be a producing entity, with first oil from the Lancaster deep well expected before 30 June. Its fractured basement play, a first for the UK continental shelf, also has the backing of Spirit Energy through a farm-in deal on the neighbouring Greater Warwick exploration area.
If all goes smoothly with its early production system, the current oil price of over $70 (£53) per barrel promises a strong start to cash generation. Even at a more realistic medium-term level of $60 a barrel the company will be generating operating cash flow of $200m a year once ramped up.
Following the buoy installation and the arrival of the Aoka Mizu production and storage vessel in mid-March, Hurricane can thus far boast a safe pair of hands, but buying at this point is a major bet on the field flowing continuously. Hurricane’s shares trade more than a fifth off their 12-month high of 60p – brought on by the Spirit news – as the market waits for more certainty on production. Hold. AH"
RNS
RNS + Hur Comms on Twitter
Post on LSE BB
Another BB
If it's via a BB, presumably viewed by a passing vessel, or employee of a nearby 'rival' ?
ADUK
"Regarding this company, the only 'Malcy stuff' I give time to are his occasional interviews, when it's the interviewee I'm listening to and watching, not the interviewer."
Funny you say that, I've been trying to fathom Malcy's role in the annals of Hurricane Energy.
Earlier Malcy was something like "The Headmaster" and Dr T, "The Head of Science" - "reported" to him...
The reality should now be more akin to Alan Titchmarsh interviewing Prince Charles.
IMO I'd like to see HUR move beyond Malcy - nothing against him, rather just RNS, Co. Presentations, and Hurricane's own comms.
100% agree MCB.
I managed to break even on a gold mining share, where the CEO was tweeting weekly, the company released RNS after RNS and it became a case of 'cry wolf' each time there was news.
The only time there was any amount of silence from them was for a few weeks prior to SP drop from 2.5 down to 0.8
HUR are consistent, and even if it consistently comes across as lack of communication, I'd imagine Dr T has to be very defensive/protective at present, given the trail of people ("experts" and majors) who want to see the concept fail.
39% increase in 5 years speaks for itself.
Lindsell Train or Fundsmith won't be looking over their shoulders anytime soon.
I'm glad I took the decision to invest in equal proportion in an AIM listed Oil E&P co. run by a Geologist, and not by a Financial Wizard.
What the F was the SXX 27p spike all about a few weeks ago? - Someone needs to go to prison for that.
I'd just like to pay a sarcastic thanks to Mrs May for her backing of the project and to the Conservative government for their all round backing of such a great UK project creating 1000+ jobs.
Well done, at least we can count on you to be business friendly.
wkrs
McCrum.
Come on down...The price is right
What a helmet.
Thanks, wwguk,
Your explanation makes a lot of sense to me, (I am no expert btw!)
So existing PI's will be able to take part in the placing from how it reads?
"The new equity will be raised through a placing with existing shareholders, who include major City institutions as well as Gina Rinehart, the Australian mining magnate."
This will go ...UP... tomorrow. (IMO)
Took a small profit too, glad I reinvested dIv at 500.
Are we expecting a positive update tomorrow? - Sunny Easter may have helped?
AD,
re: "LSE rude word censor"
That reminds me of early 2000's spam filter that gave "Scunthorpe" as a false positive...I can see where it was going with that...
Worth mentioning again the "world class PI" (Productivity Index, not Private Investor)
To quote an old interview : “It [the PI] is extremely good … It is up there with the most efficient reservoirs on the planet,” Trice said.
Also, let's look at some of the differing opinions :
-Motley Fool have mentioned that the the AM may sink
-IC are sitting on the fence (lack of expertise/research?)
-CA trade and underperform an index tracker as a result
-Heriot Watt University think there will be fast depletion and water
Spirit, Kerogen, Schlumberger, and a CEO Geologist with 30 years experience think otherwise...
No wonder he's stopped arguing with them.
