It was given as an example of scientific progress and change that is happening right in front of our eyes. Today you have burger bleeding with Heme, tomorrow you'll have a carrot made of.....something. It is happening as we speak. When will it take over? We can only speculate. Sure, we can only speculate today and nothing is a given. Near future is undoubtedly much "safer" for SXX investors, not so sure about "generations" or "grandchildren" living of granddad's investment.

My father didn't and so the most of the world. I wouldn't be surprised at all if organic, naturally grown food soon becomes a very niche product that only a very few on this planet will be able to afford which is obviously not a very good news for a company mass producing an organic fertilizer..... And as soon as lab products will become available, tested and commonly accepted and most importantly competitive in terms of price, it will take over the mass market. Trust me, nobody cares about nutritional values in China, India or starving Africa. They will be happy to eat anything as long as it's affordable, not harmful and solve the hunger problem.

barnaberible It took humanity thousands of years to make first controlled, sustained flight happen in 1903 but only but only 33 years to produce first Splitfire (incomparably more advanced machine than the one produced by Wright brothers). 15-20 years ago barely anybody possessed a personal mobile and look where we are today shopping in a bus while going to work, watching news on your phone or having voice-controlled fridge in your kitchen. 3D printing was nothing but a fairy tale 10 years ago.... Science progresses in an exponential fashion and complete transformation of the current agriculture and food production processes can happen much quicker than we all ever imagine.

Chesh, Sure, still a few years off and we can still take amazing profits in a few years time. For somebody in their twenties trying to build a retirement pot today however, not that rosy.

And the same generation and their offspring will soon be eating off the lab and not an organic garden plot which is not great news for a multi-nutrient organic fertilizer mine in general.....Obviously it won't happen overnight but the tendency is there. People have been eating sh*t forever and will continue to do so - haribo, chewing gums, marsh mellows, "crab meat" made of pulverized paste and leftovers from white fish after processing etc Many people today still think that unnaturally green spicy paste they dip their Sushi into in their local takeaway is a grated Wasabi root..... The worst thing about it is that scientists will perfect synthetic foods to the point where our primitive five senses won't be able to tell the difference.

Then Henry Ford came with his Model T and the rest is history.... Has anybody tried "Impossible Burger" recently? They look, smell, burn and even bleed like a real beef - and can be purchased TODAY. It is happening as we speak :)

Like with anything, it will come down to price - if they can produce a decent quality food in a lab that is cheaper than naturally grown (and trust me, they will), it will be a no-brainer. All the poorest regions of the world (and the most densely populated) will be eating that lab sh~t and not the fancy organic Poly4 produce. I'm invested in Sirius long term but now i'm thinking that best the time to take the profits will be in a max few years time and holding "forever" definitely is not the best strategy here. World is changing and is changing fast, in a 100 years time salads made of fresh vegetables will only be found in history books.......

Just read an article about growing population and global nutrition problems. It mentioned some foods that scientists are tinkering with today lab-grown meat (already a reality), increasing number of insect food products or creating full fish fillets by dipping muscle into fetal bovine serum, creating synthetic shrimp, advanced GMO or even 3D printed food.....Sounds futuristic? Not any more. It made me really think about Sirius and its 100 years life span. We all talk about the bright future and expected profits omitting the fact that eating a healthy breakfast in 10 years time may be as easy as swallowing a pill and production process will have literally nothing to do with broadly defined "growing".......
