Dilution ALWAYS makes a difference and it is always change for the worse. Even if you are very long term holder it will affect your future dividends.

More shares in circulation today = getting lower future dividend per share every single year for the whole life cycle of the mine.

Nobody likes to see the value of their holding diluted by the decision of BOD.

Don't talk nonsense as if it didn't matter. I does matter whether you believe in company or not.

To be honest we are not even sure if the Stage2 funding excluding the recent capital cost increase will be dilution free, let alone the additional 600mil. The overall possibility still exist but it's fairly doubtful now IMO.
In my view this is no longer question "if" but rather "how much".

This way or the other, let's wait and face the music.

Yup, me neither. I'd be really surprised if that 600mil was funded without any dilution.

and that is true. Signing contracts with sub-contractors doesn't increase the intrinsic value of the company. On the other hand increase in construction costs decrease it. It's pretty basic.

Please don't take things out of context and please read with understanding.

What I would prefer is irrelevant.

What I am saying in reply to @OldRascal post is that the value of the company isn't greater than it was prior to construction cost increase. That's it.

The company doesn't have greater value today. Fundamentals didn't really change. What has changed is the construction cost (increased) therefore the value of the company decreased in the real terms.

This is not to be confused with increase / decrease in risk.

What makes you think that the partner will ever come in at that stage? Because it is one of the potential options in RNS? It means nothing. It could be a partner it could be 100% debt, it could be 100% equity, it could be combination, it could be anything. We will find out in a few months (and some will probably find out a little bit earlier than the others).

So far he delivered a mismanagement and complete lack of sufficient internal controls when handling price sensitive information yesterday followed by a lovely unexpected drop and RNS at 07am today. Loss of credibility and trust - that's exactly what we all need just before announcing Stage2 deal......

Now the question is, what's next? Are Chris and his team going to mishandle another news again? Why not? They did it once they can do it again. Easily. No problem. Nobody will remember in a couple of months, right? No consequences either.

So the lesson from today is:

if you see an unjustified significant drop in SXX price, sell your holding immediately and run for your life - Holy Chris and his entourage are probably leaking again. He may be delivering the project, but after yesterday he definitely cannot be trusted when it comes to management and control of price sensitive information.
