Yes, British coins are capital gains tax free. It applies to Gold and Silver Britannia coins and Gold Sovereigns etc simply because capital gains tax is exempt on all British legal currency. CGT however is payable on all other gold and silver coins which do not fall into the category. So all gold and silver bullion bars are taxable (on profits above CGT tax free allowance) which is 11,700 for 2018/19 if I remember well.

5% on gross revenues on the first 13Mtpa and further 1% on revenues thereafter is just crazy.

I understand it was necessary at some point and Gina simply terrorised them during the negotiations process but generally it is a really shiitty deal from the company point of view, no matter how you look at it.
