.....to give to the people who have gambled, smoked & drunk it all themselves. Socialism, to me, has the world upside down. Great when you are young and have nawt, but in mid life when you have built up some assets, you work out the government just wants it off you. It kills asperation. Encourages folks to save nothing, and all those with nothing have a vote; and there are millions of them....

@T, getting into band C will be a nighmare. Awful lot of terraced houses sold or for sale in my Yorkshire town. Nearly all were rentals where landlords sick to death with all the new regs. On the plus side supply is short & demand is high. Result; all rents are going through the roof.....good 'ol Rayner & Co

@Tren, tried an agent for couple of years but thought he knew everything. Result; had to go. Do it all myself. All on long AST's. Keep rents low = easy life, no voids. Good maintenance guy; master of nawt, but he fixes all and keeps the tenants happy. All paid for now. Don't plan to sell. CGT 'eyewatering'. Most i paid; £27,500. Now; £140k....

All your money in one share? Well, that's confidence in AH, that's for sure.....and you plan to put the eventual proceeds into one share too? Diversify? Spread the risk?

OMG Tren lad! I have 7 rented properties bought mid 90's. Don't talk to me about c*ap tenants, Mrs K & i could write a book. It's the CGT on selling that is the pi**er.....the % return has been not too bad over the years tho.

What i do here (& with other shares) is nearly all within our ISA's. Pot, at todays value, is circ 325. LGEN & AVIVA + RIO good payers for our divi income. & DEC really....

Just as a reminder of how analysts can get it wrong Deutsche Bank gave Capita a BUY recommendation with a TP of 405p on 4th July. At the time the SP was standing at 345p. Unless of course they gave that TP on what they know about the company and it is the makers of the market that have pushed the SP down on tiny volume......who knows eh

Recent buys in Googl, Qcom & Lgen doing well. Nio lagging, but tiny amount as high risk. DEC finally in ok profit. Need Coin @ sub $200......

Why would Schroders sell out at such a low valuation? Oasis just buying 5%, Staveley buying in, Directors paying their NI on vested options, 2 new banks offering to loan Capita money, Closed Book sale imminent putting £20m back into cash flow + proceeds of sale. Whats not to like?

I think we all have our 'inner' Luddite when we reach a certain age and new things come along. Stuck in our ways so to speak....

But, there's nothing wrong with changing an opinion as new information emerges. It's those who never alter who are the real dinosaurs D.....

I thought it was important folks had the option to read the article in it's entirity, and not just the part you chose to 'copy & paste'......

An interesting read. 90+% very positive towards the understanding of AI at the board level. Fortunatly at Capita we have a CEO that already knows it.....

Am not quite an octogenarian yet, but about a decade behind you Dalt. My 'feeling' is a bit like in the mid 90's when the world wide web was forming. AI will change everything in ways we can not even dream of, as the internet has. I see Capita, with AH, at the forefront of implimentation of this new technology.
