I agree Bonkers - mini lockdown in order for the government to claim (wrongful) credit for the as will be either way (imo) reduction in hospitalisation and deaths. They / Boris (aka the pig) needs a win, a turn around of public approval.

This variant has been politically weaponised and is being used by everyone to further their own agenda, NHS wants more money, opposition wants Boris to resign, the media want him out etc etc the collateral damage is the British population.

The science doesn’t support lockdown, deaths are flat, hospitalisation is fairly flat - being driven by London where there is a large population of unvaccinated.

There does seem to be a fair amount of push back to lockdown so not sure really, neither is the markets. For now.

What would the point of the vaccination drive if we end up in lockdown anyway!!!! He’d definitely be toast if he calls one.
