Has anyone else found any other source supporting the 16% short claim? Short tracker and lse are showing half that.

HNS - happy to take your word for it…..I completely agree with how you’ve set that out, worst case that would be an entirely logical settlement. Payment in one instalment seems over punitive IMO (probably biased) great analysis mate. Very welcome dose of logic.

Been doing some digging into the 16% short positions in Cine, I can find an article in the Times and they state their source as IHS Markit…however I can’t confirm this anywhere else, am I missing something or could this be a rouse? As you can see from the below, they aren’t without their own issues. Perhaps I’m clutching at straws but maybe they have issued a scary report on cine in order to cause a sell off to enable other shorts to get out.

Just be interested to find out if the 16% is legit.

Some data I picked up from Dr John Campbell (latest video link below) and from I think sky was that we have actually had 7 Omicron deaths now, not sure if those are misreported and should have read with. Definitely heard that. As LPD said there are thousands of Omicron cases now, however there are currently around 8k in hospital…..of those 85 are Omicron and approx 50% were incidental diagnosis. As someone who’s been following SA data since the day it was announced as a variant I can say this is playing out in a very similar way. Check out “the spectator” and look specifically at their data for SA. It’s eye opening and a good barometer of what’s coming very soon here.

As I’ve said many times recently Omicron will end covid by the end of January whether people like it or not. As we see omicron replace delta expect to see deaths continue to reduce and sooner rather than later hospitalisation will follow as the more dangerous delta variant is replaced.

We are beyond the beginning of the end of this pandemic and into the mid part, soon everyone will be proclaiming it over, claiming credit and patting themselves on the back. Truth is we (humanity) have got very lucky, this variant could have gone the other way!!!!

We aren’t and won’t get back to those numbers (imo) however I believe and expect the government will cave to pressure from the media and from the NHS. That was the thrust of my point. The government is scared of the public image of not locking down regardless of necessity.

I’ve been snooping around my local Cineworld’ ((Milton Keynes) specifically for Spider-Man bookings, and man o man…..very good business being done at the moment, long may it continue!!!

A word for those we lost, I truly hope the guys that sold out on Wednesday reconsider asap, depending on when they sold they have missed regaining circa 15%!of what was wiped. I know it’s frustrating holding cine, but it’s not too late to jump back in.

The Omicron data is being accumulated and will I’m sure show that GB’s experience will be similar to SA, which means high case rates, light hospitalisation increase (with greatly reduced severity and duration) and reducing of the death rates. In the next week or so confirmation of this being a weaker strain will come to MSM. When it does the brakes will come off of society and this scare will quietly go away.
