I'm intrigued by Zib's hypothesis earlier, that shorters are locked in to the Quantity of borrowed shares they have sold, even in the event of a consolidation...(ie 100 shares shorted needs 100 shares replaced, even after consolidation)
If that is the case, then by my reckoning if ZM did consolidate at 100:1 prior to resumption of trading, and there was an overall 1% short position, it would only be possible to close them all by buying every share in the company.
Hence I think Zib may be incorrect with that theory (but happy to be corrected). If true though, no wonder the shorters are squirming..
Think I will sleep well on that thought.
