My geology is very rusty but a geophysical anomaly is a variation from normal background patterns of measured physical properties of the Earth's upper crust (e.g., magnetism), which can be attributed to localised near-surface or subsurface materials such as metallic mineral deposits. A geochemical anomaly is a departure from the geochemical patterns that are normal for a given area. A analogue anomaly I would suggest therefore is a variation in radio or sound waves/ signals indicated in a data logger and presumably the extensions referred to means that it is not uniform but is shown extending in various directions. Its a variation from the expected be it rock type, thickness, strata, mineral deposit etc. Analogue signals are converted to numbers and stored digitally I believe.
