Others have now realised the real value of Marstons !
Trying to shake the tree and hold the line to gather up as many shares as possible while they can.
This should be moving back to the 60's by the summer, lots of upside from here.
Maybe even another takeover bid of 100 before the price naturally rises.
Time to buy and hold for an easy payday.

well, it goes up you make money, it goes down you buy more and make more money on the way up again.
i'm not sure of the issue.

@Dad413252 even with the debt secured against the property estate the company would be worth over a billion.

Good trading times for 2023 are now here based on levels of Xmas 2022:
Like-for-like sales for the 16-week period to 21 January 2023 were +12.9%
In the following eight weeks likefor-like sales were +19.2% vs FY2022.

The takeover bid for 100 last year was a bargain considering the true valuation on assets puts Marston closer to 200 a share.
Going to keep buying this one and buying the rise as there is a ton of upside.
Solid business, property assets, and owning 40% of the Carlsberg Marston Brewery, the worth of this company should be more in the £1b MCAP zone.

Marston are in a great position now, and with their carlsberg partnership then are in a very strong position.

I was merely airing out concerns of this company and how they sold a ton of new shares and now buying back, very odd and not stable management to do that.

darktrace buying back their shares speaks volumes.
if the BoD were confident then the buy back wouldnt be happening.

keep in mind there was a takeover bid of 100 during the worst of the covid period, so based on that, the share can easily rise another 150% to that level from here.
look at the rest of the market, and shares have jumped up 50% in the past months, however Marston is only up 16% since October, and has been a very healthy rise upwards.

expect this share to jump high once a big buy turns up in the next few weeks before the Easter/Summer trading period fully kicks in.

I'm Asos positive, and will be building a holding, however the major buyers are now holding back, so happy to wait a week to get the shares a bit cheaper than now.

Microsoft, Broadcom, and every other major tech vendor is in the process of buying up AI firms and implementing AI into their own offerings, in direct competition to Darktrace.
I like DT, good company with strong sales, however future projections of the share price needs to be based on potential growth and market share.

If you look at whats happened the past 6 months, across the tech channel there has been alot of takeovers and mergers.
The tech sector got too much of a share price rise over 2020/2021 and now is crashing back to real levels.
The share buy back from Darktrace is them admitting they over baked the cake and now trying to cover the burns with icing.
good company, however still a bit overvalued, and if they dont become more of a house name or align with a big tech vendor that can over wrap around services they will be in trouble.

problem with shorttracket is that is only recording over a certain threshold.
So there will be lots of small shorts being placed that cant be seen, as sometimes firms will get their friends to short to hide their own actions to drop the price for buys to clear short position,
looking at the trades this should drop in the 700's and consolidate, the rise from 500 was not based on anything material.
let the profit takers exit over the next week and form a platform to the start the attack back up to the 900's.
