Upgraded yards to maximise cost /time savings on production. Training by Navantia , tech transfer from Navantia and 37 Navantia staff onsite from project inception to completion .

I assumed at first it was between Vietnamese manufacturing company & the Steamship company.

Then after reading further posts assumed it was between IoSC & Steamship company.

I wasn't aware of a date and a contract between the latter.

One day at a time Scaffman , right now the contract is not signed and will it ever be , unless I'm misunderstanding, the basis of that contract was utilising the LUF funds and the reports are that they intend to utilise private funding.

If connected with H&W it doesn't suprise me at all. H&W have not completed their business case and therefore if the IoSC met sooner they would have nothing concrete to evaluate.

It may not be connected at all , who knows !

Morning Naewise , looking at private suppliers if testing for multiple different things then yes in that ball-park range. I would imagine that all the NHS trusts who provide Nipt testing have negotiated a reduction on this figure.

As the report was recent we have yet to see this reflected in numbers.

To say they are against private funding , monopoly , the cost of fares etc is an understatement. They ridicule the Steamship company for requesting part of the levelling up funding and their is a proposal to thwart their ability to operate. If they now accept a monopoly blah blah it is a huge U turn.

We welcolme todays announcement from the Steamship group that they will be proceeding with private funding to build replacement vessels in Vietnam.

It is clear, in our opinion this will result in failure, the basic facts are that it will be impossible to operate the route and payback the level of debt being publicly indicated. Focusing only on maximising summer trade whilst pricing the local communities out of the market.

Harland and Wolff continue to develop our proposals and will be in Scilly in the coming weeks as we refine our offer. We are aware of the threats being made regarding the air service to the Islands, I have taken several calls from Islanders today indicating their key priority is ships owned by the community operating at rates they can afford.

Keeping a monololy that will likely more than triple existing tariffs doesn’t need to happen, now is the time for the Isles of Scilly Council to look after their residents and compete the route.
