Riddle me this, am I missing something fundamental. How come no cash rich company is just swallowing them whole, if their products are so amazing. They sound pretty impressive to me. Or is that the next RNS incoming after they have had to declare their hand?

I wouldn't refer to the lab staff as that, they were working under extreme pressure. If in that situation and I could reach for an easier test ( more automated , less steps) I most definitely would*.

A cumbersome by comparison test, does not mean a faulty assay , it is simply more cumbersome.

I hope unlike the summary judgement, that we can listen to the court case.

Hello P . I recall the tweets Wilson references written by an NHS staff member claiming to have abandoned using the exsig assay. It was all to do with Manual pipetting and why bother when x test didn't require it.

You wrote a great post explaining that manual pipetting required skill especially under pressure. The post discussed co prep I believe and how Ncyt were responding to issues raised. If I recall correctly inaccurate manual pipetting can result in faulty test results.

Well when the tests were procured and NHS obviously looked at them first , they required manual pipetting. I think it is going to be extraordinarily difficult to prove any fault lay with the assay and not perhaps the end user. Especially as it was used successfully in the care home trial and elsewhere.

Yes indeed it does , but that doesn't change the outcome.

A couple of things JW can't control are the weather ;) the government ( speed of approving finance ) or the judiciary ( IM)

What he can control is what information he releases and thankfully imo he has decided to say very little of late via official channels. I strongly suspect he has been told to say nothing re finance as it merely feeds the trolls on the frontbench opposition.

I think we all remember with great clarity the care homes trial , run by Jo Martin , in conjunction with QMUL , Barts and Novacyt. Funded by Novacyt and conducted by Virologists ab

and graduates ... trained in the testing protocol and with weekly samples being sent to NHS labs to check accuracy of the tests. This was a huge trial using the exact same assay and instruments. It was If I recall correctly where we first learnt about daisy chaining of instruments for faster bulk results. The DHSC were aware of the results of this trial prior to signing off the contract. I find it most bizarre that all of a sudden the tests cease to work and there is also an additional issue with instruments. I hope Jo Martin who conducted the trial is called as an expert witness. The trial results are I believe what propelled the DHSC to sign the contract.

My posting was in relation to current government stance regarding Warships , I'm sure I could find a plethora of companies who deal with the MOD , find me any who aren't British who build Warships for us.
