What I believe happened from bits and pieces of conversations I have picked up and from vlads numerous interviews:
There were 2 sides to Eli Lilly, the science side, the labs the scientists etc and this is where Vlad and his team interacted with the company, because the scientists from Eli were working hard with Hemo the impression amongst them all was that Eli would buy. However at the end when the lab work was finished the business side, the executive branch of Eli decided they just didn't have a place for CDX, nothing to do with the science or price or anything to do with Hemogenyx. As a company Eli were heading into different therapeutic areas and CDX bi-specific antibodies did not neatly fit into their business model. I dont think there ever was a an offer made, IMO the decision to not even discuss licencing CDX last April came before any discussion of price tag and you can tell by the RNS they published at the time it was a bit of a surprise to everyone.
Anyway that is just my understanding but I could be wrong, for once I actually prefer HemoTruths version that vlad asked for too much, in my book I would rather a CEO demand too much than sell for chicken feed. It is what it is, Eli didnt buy it then, we got shafted with CLN's, sp is in the toilet but on the upside Hemo own 100% of everything and are pretty close to clinical trials with CAR-T and now looks like CDX is getting close aswell.
