HT, I did not get a name, what I have heard is a medium size broker, not on behalf of a PI. Sorry that's literally all I could squeeze. As for size, it would be less than the notifiable limit, but I am not sure what the limit is for brokers, be interesting to see the next update on simplywallstreet or somewhere that shows the top 20 holders or so.
But for sure I know several others who have changed their tune and sold, and there are 100% people on this board who dumped on the RNS. But like I said, its pretty much all based on a knee jerk reaction and taking this placing like some sort of personal attack on them because it came before IND when they were planning to dump.
Its my sincere hope that those who have thown a hissy fit and sold out STAY out. I 100% believe there will be an update in the coming days and IND in probably single figure trading sessions. It will give me immense pleasure and satisfaction to see those who have sold posting about buying back up in the 3-4p+ range again having wasted their time and money b17ching instead of buying at 2.3

If you think you made a mistake I suggest selling, but I would then suggest you have no clue what a clinical pharma is worth with a CAR-T Treatment for oncology so I suggest this is the wrong field anyway and you just followed the herd.
Fundamentally what has changed is there are more shares in issue and the company has £4m more in the bank.

I think the statistic is 95% of retail investors lose money? Something like that, and I completely agree and understand why, you only have to spend 5 mins reading a board like this on LSE to see the same tripe with different names time after time. When SP goes a bit red we have same old faces posting s41t and any sensible posts get lost in the churn, you dont hear from the sensible deep pocket investors who just sit loading up.
Pumpkin, apologies for picking you, just your honest so make a good case study, she was moaning constantly about the SP, Vlad, the placing 3-4 years ago etc when it was down at 1.2p, just moaning not loading up. Then started buying when it bounced 3p+ and now clearly has dumped again, I really admire the transparency but seriously?
Its now a FULL page of moaning pretty much with zero content, there is the odd prediction of 1.something pence, some hindsight about placings, but there is now next to nothing on this page about Hemogenyx as it stands today. Which is fine, I don't particularly want to encourage any of you who have sold in a toddler tantrum to buy back and I cant imagine anyone else with sense would waste their time reading this trash today.
Seriously folks, grow up, if you are trading because of the colour of the share today or the moaning's of LSE then please do something more constructive with your money and donate it to charity as you will probably blow it eventually anyway.

Dhub, mentioned last week but my understanding is its one broker selling off because they thought they were lied too, which means they are selling their stock they accumulated before the placing but would still be in profit, saw the floor at 2.3 last week when they stopped selling so that looks like as low as they are willing to accept, probably tells you what they paid in the weeks before....
Sounds like they threw their toys out of the pram in a hissy fit because they were caught by surprise by the placing, having enough cash for CAR-T into clinical trials does not mean enough money to progress CAR-T, CBR and everything else. Hemogenyx did not NEED to raise but they did and it leads them in a much stronger place. That broker clearly does not have any contacts inside as they didn't even know about the placing so I place very little weight on their actions.
Clearly a few well known faces have jumped on the bandwagon and sold off, not sure if they have noticed but the selling stops around 2.3... The faces will jump back on and change their narrative soon enough, but I expect the likes of pumpkin to wait for it to bounce first and buy when its already 10% up or so in yet another successful trade :P
I dont know how some of these traders have the patience to wait days and days praying for another 5% drop to buy in (usually missing and paying more!)
As for updates, as dhub says, alot is due very very soon. I agree an update in the next day or so followed by IND submission very near future.

This is max $4m award for small bios in New York or willing to relocate to New York working on bio defence, have to have a project and recent 100% matched funding.
To be fair its not a huge amount and looks easy to get, its basically a bribe to attract and keep companies working on infectious diseases in New York.

They could be helping Hemogenyx today for all we know, its the government so dont expect transparency. They can provide grants, help with fast track approval, provide assistance and access to facilities and samples etc.

It's hemo... Be more likely that buyers try and keep 1 share below declaration level to avoid having to go public imo but who knows. Also am I right in thinking that it's not as simple as 3%? Companies and holders living abroad have different rules and time to file I think?

Love it, to be honest HEMO-CAR-T might fail in trials! When they file IND and start trials and re-rate I think most of us are planning to derisk a little at that point so yea, glad to see your on board with the fact THIS IS GOING CLINICAL :-D

"The net proceeds from the Placing will be used to facilitate progression of the Company's HEMO-CAR-T product candidate into clinical trials and to enable the Company to continue development of product candidates for the treatment of viral infections based on its Chimeric Bait Receptor ("CBR") platform."
As has been made crystal clear, Hemogenyx had ENOUGH CASH TO GET HEMO-CAR-T into clinical trials. In terms of actual cost, they are at IND stage anyway and then their partner Penn is doing the first patients so probably that would be true even if they only had £1m in the bank. They had however millions and if they shut down CBR and everything else and stayed on CAR-T alone they probably could have went all year without raising cash.

Are you suggesting that is what they should have done? Stop all work on CBR? Cease talks on CDX? Is that your expert opinion?

Having ENOUGH cash for CAR-T but not enough to quickly progress CBR means when you raise cash to fund CBR you are enabling the progression of CAR-T.

However your the expert, how much is an IND application?
How much are they paying, if anything, to Penn to host these trials?
How much is the consumables for the Cocoon device?
What is the staff and premises cost between now and run 1 of the trials?
I GUARANTEE that figure is less than the cash balance as of 2 days ago.

Hemogenyx HAD enough money for CAR-T, this placing allows them to spend more on CBR without hurting progress of CAR-T and provides a cushion. If you disagree and think thats BS then your thick as champ :-)

NOW they are also funded to accelerate progress of CBR.
He is a CEO who took advantage of an offer of finance that was taken and laid at his table on a silver platter, get over it.

If I were to make a guess about whats happened in the past few days I would guess that some big holder who didnt know about the placing felt they were lied too about the company being fully funded and having bought in the weeks prior dumped in a bit of a hissy fit, still at a profit.
Reality is, Vlad did NOT lie, he said the company was funded into trials for CAR-T and that is true, they had enough to get CAR-T into trials. They COULD have waited but fully aware there was pressure from external investors looking to invest in a placing and I guess it was just too tempting. More money allows acceleration of CBR instead of running on a shoestring as they have been doing.
IMO whoever it is is an idiot who has over reacted and made a rash decision which they will regret in the coming days and weeks.
The selling stopped at 2.3 so either they have ran out or they bought in the weeks before the rise up to 2.3 and dont want to take a loss, assuming they went right up to the 2.99% as worst case scenario thats around 30mil shares and we have seen 150m volume the past few days, split into sells and buys, add in the normal moaning traders who dumped and some shorters and its entirely possible they are about finished.

If people however prefer to listen to the alternative views that have been expressed that PQ3 has failed or the earth is flat or a gap at 1.8p then fair enough. I remain fully confident in my investment here which I have added today.

Dont forget they were off the back of slightly less that I had sold at 10p in my one successful trade in Hemogenyx which lasted all of a few weeks :P

Micky, honestly ZERO attack, investing is not a team sport and you must do whats right for you, but I am curious. Why did you sell? Was it a purely emotional action or did you have other reasons and are you having second thoughts about it?
I really do wonder how many would have dumped so low if the MM's had not gapped down to placing price PRE open
How big an impact was the opening SP on your decision? If it had opened flat and dipped a little would you have thought "Hey, this is not cool, but at least funding is out of the way for a while can focus on the science now!"
I have seen LOTS of placing RNSs recently in small caps but I cant recall any of them with such a huge gap down PRE open.
Can anyone name any other shares that have actually gapped down BELOW placing price before markets opened?

The SP gapped down on open below placing price and stayed there pretty much all day and I doubt anyone who took part in placing would have sold at a loss.
It just feels like today was a bit of a bloodbath Thursday with lots of smaller emotional PIs giving up their shares while PEEL and their mates just happily worked away filling orders as most of the big trades were buys.

Honestly really struggling to understand who and why thought it was a good idea to sell today... Like seriously.. Micky, I dont even know where to begin with your comment, death spiral? You realise that relates to ongoing convertible debt where the conversion price drops? This SP is going up and the company have ZERO debt and have just used up the vast majority of the 30% additional shares they can issue until the next AGM right? No offence but I think its safe to assume you dumped today. Pumpkin I guess you as well, and a few others obviously have sold or not holding.

But my question is.... Why???
Do you really think any of us know better than those who took part in the placing who were happy to buy at 2.5p? And there was clearly no shortage of offers because I dont know any PI who got a call to take place in this round.
Do you think this placing makes it MORE likely or LESS likely that there will be another placing?
Do you think this placing makes it less likely they get the grant that requires the company to match the funding?
Do you think it is likely to slow down IND submission?
Do you think it will have an impact on the third party testing the CAR-T that has been sent for external verification?
Do you think whoever they are talking to about CDX are LESS likely to sign some sort of deal just because Hemo have an additional £4m in the bank?
Do you think Covid-19 is going to fight ever so much harder not to be killed by CBR because of the additional £4m.
Do you think as a company Hemogenyx is worth LESS than it was yesterday having an additional buffer of cash in the bank?

Today was a kick in the nuts, i'm 20% down from yesterday, its not nice, but I have talked to people who were convinced there would be a placing and had waited for it and today bought 600k, or 2.4m, or 10m (Yes these are actual amounts of people who post on this board and bought today). Dont speak to anyone who dumped today so those shares came from somewhere and I am really struggling to understand why anyone thought a 20% to BELOW placing price was the sweet spot to sell.

IMO today was a serious sloot drop by the MMs to get out as many small PIs as possible and it worked. People saw the RNS, and sold because they got angry and emotional. I said before when this gets close to clinical the adults would return to take back their shares and thats exactly what this feels like, albeit more aggressive than I ever imagined. I personally believe those who sold today will have sellers regret pretty soon, Thursday Bloodbath may lead to FOMO Friday.

IMO alot of smaller PIs have let their emotions dictate their actions and sold in a huff and that was intentional by the MMs who are happily hoovering up this stock to fill bigger orders. Personally I have added and I know lots of the larger holders have also added today. I of course am not happy about today, but think those who have sold will regret it.
A placing gives the company buffer and freedom, it does not have any impact on clinical trials or the science, its sometimes just good business. Jury for me is out on that part, if I were CEO I am not sure I would have made the same call... But its done, if people want to sell because their feelings are hurt fair enough, I have managed to buy today BELOW the price the placees have paid, so yea, big ole middle finger to them!
