Could you please explain why either of these actions benefit the big holders and disadvantage minority holders?
My view (it could be proven by investigating) it that minority holders have benefitted greatly by the stock price drop, they will have loaded up in a way that the big boys could not, (take Blackrock as an example), now the divi's being retained, to me is neutral, in fact many minority holders could well have sold out ex div by now and lost the bigger move in share price. In effect having been locked in has stopped that, it's to good effect I would say.
