As our crumbling NHS (remember used mostly by the aged) lack of social services (remember used mostly by the aged) our rocketing fuel bills (effecting mostly the aged) and other things will attest, the only thing that get's the tories into power time after time is a few quid of a bribe to the elderly prior to the next election. Sad that they are too blinkered to see it for what it really is.

That's correct, it would though assume that we know those shareholders average prices, some may be at £7 plus like you say, I assume you're referring to Blackrock, is that indicative of the other 90% or so of shareholders? The reality is that at present, however uncomfortable for us, some things are not known. Like others I hope to receive divi's for many years from Poly, combined with a much higher share price (as 65% of my ISA is in this stock) but I also did not see the drop from £4 either. (I have no problem being filtered as some wannabe little Gods seem to bang on about incessantly, but sometimes living in an echo chamber is not always for the best).

Whilst wanting to be positive could not a bid, be it friendly or hostile mean a 100% buyout, with just a premium over the current share price? Have you ever heard of the chinese overpaying for anything ? It would just be up to the big shareholders, would it not?

Short of using nuclear weapons (I don't think that will in any way happen) I do not see the E.U. or any other countries getting too involved (feet on ground, aeroplanes, tanks etc) why? Ukraine has in many ways given VP a bloody nose in all this, VP has been hiding all this from the russian public, that's one thing when 10, or 20 thousand troops are lost. Quite another when it's 100,000 and the potential start of WW3. My view is that VP miscalculated, he planned this years ago for a US with trump in power, maybe even out of NATO too. If that were the case Europe would to a degree have been rudderless, and able to be taken advantage of. But that did not happen, President Biden has been very strong on this and has I think unified and supported others in this endeavor. But VP was already sold on the idea by this time and could not go back on his decisions. I really don't think that the russian services want this war, and I don't think that (other than maybe a small number of 'die hards') will want/allow it to be escalated.

I don't think that RA would come out and denounce the invasion, it certainly would not do his mediator status any good at all. He clearly hopes to help it stop and is seen as useful to both sides to a degree at least. Is that not enough for now?

I'm interested in what is happening within my timeframes, not those of the bashers. We all know that this and other stocks have tanked, what's important now is how they behave from here onward.
If you don't like the stock, my advice would be don't buy. Simple really.

There seem to be a few 'brain boxes' out there who 'knew' what was going to happen, now beating their chests, I find this no less obnoxious than those bashing for a drop. Obviously much of the 'wisdom' is with the benefit of hindsight. Reality says, if they knew, why did they not sell earlier at £3+ and then load up at £2.25 or so? Today it would have been so easy to sell to protect gains having seen the earlier falls, after all if one owned 5K shares a drop of 50p/share is big money for most holders. One has to be careful and do your own research. This is not a 'fly by nite' dot com, but there are geopolitical risks attached. These are to a degree foreseeable, Evraz dropped it's divi a few weeks ago, the stock price ended up too. As others here have said maybe stop losses are not apt here, but a careful eye is.

Thanks for the link, interesting how a team of politicians that break the rules regarding lockdowns which caused hundreds of thousands to loose contact with family members during their darkest times and a chancellor whose wife has sidestepped millions in taxes find it OK to lecture others on morality.
I don't see the Blackrock's or the BP's or any company for that matter being willing to loose millions or even billions for this lot of self serving charlatans.
A little sad for those taken in by the bashers today, easy to get spooked when this happens, I was down £29K at one point, (for others it would have been even more), it would have just about been my biggest one day loss in 25 years or so of trading . Glad I kept the faith, so to speak. This is a bit of a wild ride, though the value is there.

So, by your own words your figures are out.
The reason for looking back at 5 years is to reduce any benefits.
Realistically a max two year timeframe would be more objective, the business is very different now to then.
The share price having dropped by 77% in the last five years also would tremendously boost any divi relative percentage payout. Over the last two years if buying today the share price is down 83%.
Basing any divi projections taken from last year which was 96 pence and using only half of that would (48p) would still have a divi based on a share price of 250p (slightly optimistic possibly) over 19%. This is in war conditions, with every negative including the kitchen sink thrown at it.
Bash all you like, mine are more accurate figures.
It says a lot that dealers are allowing sells but not buys, so unless they are building big positions themselves, who are they selling to? The big boys.

My point is that when you posted that, the price was about 2.67. It's now 2.70 If one thinks that it will go up from here, and that there is a good chance of the 40p divi being paid, what difference does 6p or 7p make? (unless I suppose one buys 200,000+ shares that is).
