That is true, the FT does say that. But they do not say that it's a prerequisite. Also remember, Polymetal is not a FTSE 100 company, and as we can see, trades happily where it is now, so the point is moot in reality. Why in fact would they state that unless it were to create FUD? The present conditions and timescales are in my view the only things that makes appointing new auditors in any way difficult. Some here proposed that it would be difficult due to the size and scope of Polymetal's business, I don't see that as the problem. Some of this is conjecture, we all have to be mindful, as I think most here are.

That's true she has the brains, (the beauty too) but it's simply to show that these times of no small risk, (please DYOR) are also ones of massive potential not seen for most small investors like ourselves. I do believe that one has to be careful of being manipulated. Be it by pumpers or bashers. My view is that though (because of present situations) not exactly straightforward an auditor will be appointed simply enough, any delay will more than likely be due to Poly's good management and selection process. Polymetal as I eluded to, is not that big or difficult a company to audit. Many companies have not SOLD out completely from russian holdings or partnerships, that's because it would simply cost too much for them to do so, they just mumble appealing phrases and keep their heads down waiting for the smoke to clear. They have auditors too, and their financials are going on as if nothing has happened, many in the press etc just conveniently point the finger.

I'd rather consider what are the differences between Poly's operation and other miners/multinationals. Most news services have an angle, most think that TMF does. Does the FT in this respect?
Obviously current hostilities, but not really much else as far as I can see.

In what way are miners complex?
4 or so products.
Fixed costs known or largely planned.
Variable/labour costs?
No real R&D to any major scale.
Surveys for any proposed new expansion.
Prices as per any commodity.
Two main centres/countries of production.
How does that compare to a Ford/GM/Nissan or a BP ?
Seems more straightforward to me.

I don't think that there is a problem. It's just a bit of uncertainty that the bashers like to wave around, all part of their game. There are hundreds of other companies still being audited but with russian connections, can't be hard to use one of those.
Like they do with anything, Polymetal management are no doubt taking a very professional, long term view to appoint the right company.

If you look back further, 6m or 12m you will see that POG is actually about 10% worse off than Poly. OK the term "All other things being equal" is falsely used in this circumstance, minor differences, auditor stuff, broker rec's shareholders accumulation etc etc possibly makes much of the difference. In a trading environment where 15% to 25% swings in a day are not unusual it's (to me at least, just smoke and mirrors, if you can successfully day trade, good for you, I'm going to sit on my hands.

I would have been a much bigger divi for me, but my view is that if it protects the company in some small way, and preserves the money within the company if needed, then it's a worthwhile insurance.
I do understand how for others the needs are different, just for me, with the longer term divi's so great, I'm prepared to wait.

Other than the volume! I agree with your sentiments, in any case at this stage there is little that shareholders can do. When the handcuffs are off, this will jump up, the worst thing one could do (in my view at least) would be to have a sale set at open (when it happens).

Bear in mind, that at the moment some Stock and Share ISA providers are allowing dealing in Poly etc, and some are not. This might be worth taking into account when you make any decision.

One has to try to separate what may suit us personally from what might be in the best interests of a multi billion $ company that employs many thousands. I really don't mind either way, but not knowing how long restrictions may last, if extra sanctions will be set, or how difficult obtaining finance will possibly get, some would see keeping that money within the company as a good insurance, allowing flexibility. Poly has good management, it's not as if they won't pay it as a special divi or a bumped up standard divi at some time in the near future when the situation is better. If it is paid. I'll just buy a few more shares, so that is obviously a bonus as the price may not have taken off by then. Others though may think otherwise.

The Oligarch's wealth is also frozen in many cases. Now I'm not saying that this will stop put1n because I don't see that he thinks in a logical way, especially now that he is set on a particular path. He does not seem concerned about the suffering of his peoples either, russia and her peoples are experienced in the pains of war and the lies that they are told continue to support his narrative. Time will tell.
