You miss the most important point. Whatever you want to propose, I would say that even with all their faults, elections in the west are more democratic. No opposition leaders are being killed, none are being locked up or their parties made illegal. Yes county boundries are gerimandered, election finances sometimes unequal, but that is orders of magnitude different. This has influence to democracy and decisions.

Though it may be thought otherwise by many in the east, people in the west do not all believe what is circulated. But the differences are that there are far more sources of information in the west and even more importantly that western governments have a greater degree of self control. Obviously things still go wrong, witness Iraq wars, but these tend not to be decrees more gradual moves in my view.

I don't think that you are right. Russian people in the main, in my view want peace as much as anyone else, but they are very very loyal to their nation so can be easily manipulated by propaganda. As we have seen in the past Russians will not be quick to push the big red button.

Do you write for soap's in your spare time? Clearly if the gas taps are turned off there will be disruption for a time, but not your armageddon proposal. What do you think the logical, planning brains in Germany have been doing for the last six months? If any country can ride out financial troubles it's Germany. There are repercussions for both sides if the situation gets that bad.

Your reply has too many might's and maybe's. Many brokers safely handle peoples accounts of hundred's of thousands if not millions of pounds all the time, transfering divi's, data and legal matters. I am NOT saying that Evras does not have insight into future things that may aid us shareholders and give them (and hence us) more flexibility if shares are taken into paper, they do seem to be mindful of smaller shareholders, (unlike POG for instance) and this would be the reason I would convert, not really any distrust of my broker. But remember for some holders there are definite disadvantages to going paper. These are fluid times, with a few unknowns, I try (as much as is possible at my level) to consider facts and probabilities.

I'm undecided regarding Corbyn, don't really know his full agenda. There are loonies on both sides, I too am "Middle of the road" a coalitian government is probably best in my view, so we need proportional representation and powerful regional councils, not lip service.
Having bought my first house at 27 on my own with a 70% mortgage, I wonder how many single youngsters could do that today. The shortage of good low cost, simple housing is cronic, and council house hogging is to me a problem too.
Anyway, as we all agree (I think) things will have to change, hopefully for the better.

Covid is well behind us now, if one looks at how other developed nations are picking up one sees the reality. The real anchor on the economy is.......... you know what! and it's effects are only getting sequentially worse. The nation has to bang heads together and fathom out a way forward, a "New Britain" in a way, a Britain where we Export Nuclear power technology, green energy tech,pharmaceuticals etc etc, not import them from.........Beep.. Beep... china! This will take government intervention and guidance, not the stigma of the "Free market economy" for all that lays in that direction is import of cheap low quality from abroad and future mass unemployment.

Great, but understand, where we are now is a place that the nation has not been for centuries in my view, and many of our one time options are no longer available. I am quite happy to have a few false starts along the way to recovery. To be fair to Corbyn and McDonald, do we really actually KNOW what the upshot of their policies if employed wholesale would be? (Due to our system could really loony ideas be implamented? I don't know, but seeing what has happened over the last 12 years I suppose anything is possible). We can't know because they never gained power, all we do have is 'snippets' and that put about by the far right tory press. One thing is I think true, is that he's (Corbyn) certainly not as open to bribes, manipulation or lying as the present tory cabal or it's leader. I'm old, and reasonably comfortable, none of this matters for me, but I really fear for the younger generations, (and also for my nation), they face decades of debt if they want a 'good' education, if not, unions (which were at one time far too powerful) are being hamstrung whilst employers are being enabled a la the USA model. The NHS is in intensive care, how this will impact the sick (I have seen what can happen) is truly life changing. The balance presently is wrong, it does not have to be like this.

But did the tory government protect us POG shareholders? NO. (I'm £15 K down on that one). So regarding protection for Evraz shareholders, don't hold your breath, they have in fact created this situation.

Look, just think for a moment, who have the tories had in their minds to protect or enrich decade after decade? Certainly not the majority of UK citizens by any means. The fact that you personally may be better off when in reality millions are worse off is of little comfort. Is that really how you think the nation should be governed/organised?
All parties have good and bad points, I do think that one thing is irrefutable and that is that a policy/action taken mainly to unify the tory party (we all know what that was) has in reality lead to the fracturing of the UK in the most dangerous of ways. It has also (and you should check the numbers yourself as they are truly frightening) put the nation on a path to loose more in the next six or severn years than the modern day cost of WW2. You will find that hard to beleive I'm sure so check it yourself. Why anybody would not see this disaster that puts any and all other political issues of the last 100 years in the shade is in my mind just dogma and an unwillingness to see things for what they are. I don't mean to offend, but this is our nation, not a football match where one supports "Your team" come hell or high water, this is our legacy to our decendants.

Wolf. Is EVR sanctioned in India, or China or many other countries? If not, if those countries allow payment of divi's or payment of loans and normal operation, does the problem not then become one of, "How does one turn and distribute shares pro rata in a LSE company into a non LSE company?"
Hopefully though this question will remain moot if things get better on the world stage.
