Whilst your rewriting of history may keep your bosses happy, the reality then as now is very different. You don't seem to remember that russia agreed a deal with nazi germany for the early part of the war, (the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact) only changing when they were invaded by the nazi's, at that time much of Europe was already at war, and the USA was sending vast amounts of supplies and food to support the western war effort. You seem to forget all the support given to russia by the west, the deaths of many in the northern convoys and other theatres. Yes of course you don't like the truth which is that stalin had no care what so ever for his people, (as many russian leaders seem not to have) and threw untrained and unarmed people by the million into battle, and allowed many millions of others to starve. His carelessness with russian lives also continued after (like before) the war. or would you like to paper over that also?

Today, things are different, the younger generation though still very loyal to their motherland have access to more honest and real information. They are the ones here who are badly served, they are for the most part like all other people, they want peace and oppertunities for their loved ones. They await patiently a government that is willing to give them that.

Why do you and your boss continue to push these untruths? I've posted that I was told by Interactive Investor that if dividends are paid to anyone, all get them, and that they will be placed into holders accounts in the normal way, and will be useable in the normal way. I accept that whilst sanctions are in place selling may not be possible, but if they did move I would not want to sell anyway as they are likely to move upward in price over a year or so.
This is all accademic now mostly though as dates have passed. It seems to me now just a child arguing in a playground.
I decided to take certs for my trading acc, but leave my ISA as is. Let's move on as this is no longer an issue.

You keep banging on about this when as I see it, it's simply not true at all. I have been told by II that divi's will be paid to private shareholders with nominee accounts, and that this money is transferrable.
Wherever one holds EVR shares the can be paid a dividend. If one holds certs, they may in time also be able to trade those shares, (possibly not if in nominee accounts depending on situation at the time. In whatever case, one still holds the shares, and as I see it, even in restructuring, Evraz cannot simply nullify hundreds of millions of shares.

Well, in the truest of 'Sitting on the fence' traditions, I've decided to get paper for my trading acc shares and keep the ISA ones where they are. The ISA has about twice the number, so could (if all goes well) be a good tax free cash generator. It's all though with the Gods, but I've everything crossed.

I don't agree at all. One simple qualification method regarding the legitamacy of a stock exchange is weather or not it is recognised by HMRC, I think that they probably know more than you do. There are many exchanges recognised. End Of.
If Evraz decide to list on one of those is not known. So it's a known unknown to to speak!!

Just got off the phone with Interactive Investor, the person I spoke to seemed very well versed in the situation, answered all the questions I asked and expanded on them a bit.
Q1.. When delisted on LSE if listed on another exchange (or not), if the company pays a dividend and I still have my shares in nominee account, will I recieve that divi money and can I withdraw it?
A1.. Yes, you will still recieve that money into your account and it is able to be withdrawn. The rep also saw that I have both ISA and non-ISA acc's and made no qualifying statements regarding either of them. The rep made no mention to any differences between the two accounts situations or conditions.
Q2.. Can Evraz shares in my accounts be sold without my express permission?
A2.. No, they cannot, the only thing that can change/influence my shareholding is if the company itself (Evraz) did something to cancel the shares. (I have another stock that's gone to zero years ago, and those shares are still shown, but of zero value in my account). If held in nominee acc I cannot sell the shares unless the company relists onto a qualifying exchange, so they do seem to be "locked in" to a degree at least though. (My words not theirs).
Q3.. Is their cut off date for paper certs (12/08/22) really final or just quicker to expidite by that date.?
A3.. It's final, after that date they will remain in nominee acc.

Though this is all to a degree conjecture, as others have said, (and it seems logical to me) "Those in nominee get money and those with paper certs can take money or move with the company to another stock exchange."
So, all shares will have a value assigned, that value will be passed to brokers who hold for nominees to be passed on, and those with paper will be paid/reimbersed with new shares at the given time to the specified conditions.
Thes seems to me a fair share out considering the situation. If the resultant nominee account monies paid are then locked in till sanctions end seems unclear to me though others have said PI's finances will not be locked in.

Thanks for the reply. Is not the price though based on the value/viability/future guidance of the company? Where shares are held and what form they take as I see it, don't influence that, it's just the number issued. (Obviously any divi/bonus that may crop up will also have an effect).

Having just looked this up in fact the Interactive Invester deadline is...
"you need to contact us by phone at .................by 12th August 2022 at the latest, and request the withdrawal of these shares into your own name.
As my average price is £1.04P in the ISA and £0.78P out of ISA I am inclined to keep the ISA as is, (any £4+ offer will incur large tax bill) and get paper certs for the out of ISA ones which though cheaper are presently in limbo so to speak.

I would say that any sale would be dependant on the offers made. Assuming that there are not other major factors causing any sale. In any case, it's hardly likely to fetch a 'premium' offer, though it certainly will not be 'nothing'. But we will see.

I think you need to differentiate between
"Get anything" and be able to use/spend it.
And
Get anything that then goes into their managed account and is stuck there for the duration.
As I see it, all shareholders will get pro rata share of any distribution due to sale of assets.

Thanks for your reply. I'll just go through your points and give my view on their relative value. This is personal so will be just my take on the situation.
1. Direct comms with Evraz, this is nice, but not knowing what that cooms will hold or if it's impossible presently with electronic holdings, I'm unsure as to it's value, but it a 'Nice to have'.
2. Direct voting rights. I'm unsure why this would be any different, or what effect iot would have.
3. Right to sell, at their present price and situation I would imagine that offers would be very very low. Using POLY as an example, there is a German company (Metafina GmbH) offering to buy shares on mass, their offer is about 10% of present market price! Would any offer for EVR shares be better?
4. Overseas transfer. Where's the benefit? If one cannot receive/spend the divi's compared to that money being in a brokers account in the holders name?
5. See above please.
6. I don't really see a benefit there having delt/owned shares electronically for over 30 years.

I do see some nuanced advantages, (would it reduce the opertunity to short the stock, thus helping price stability?) but none so far to outweigh the 'potential' (for who knows what will happen in the future) loss of the ISA wrapper.

I understand that you 'Say' that paper gives 'Many' more options, but what people would wish to know is what this 'many' options objectively are or may end up being.
The status quo, for a time at least, has the possibility of maintaining ISA wrapper and it's tax advantages.
The status quo, relies on past used and mostly trusted support and systems and their protections.
The status quo, seems to provide for any distribution, or at the least holding of any potential dividends until the war is concluded and restrictions lifted.
Now if I am correct in the above, what concrete advantages are offered by going paper?

I am as yet undecided, have some shares (about 13K) in a straight investment acc and about 27K in an ISA. So I may end up mix and matching. The 'hint/advice' from Evraz goes a long way with me because even I don't yet see what the advantages might be, I trust them as having the interests of the 'Little Guy' in mind.
