Whilst I completely agree that this is very bad behaviour from the ex-service personal, is it any wonder, when your prime minister can go to 'Bunga Bunga' parties in Italy and other places with the son of a known ex KGB agent, and then raise the son to the House of Lords, and whilst drawing an MP's wage, go on speaking tours and get paid over £100K a time? Or a chancellor can set a budget helping fund managers and then the very next day go partying with them? In the service men's minds, I'm sure it's "Why can they do it and not me?" Standards have dropped so low, it seems the leaders are not worthy of the people they "govern".

I'm not sure what "Farage is too well capable" means, but I would have thought that the economic, national and international disaster that brexit is now obvious as being would preclude any objective person from mentioning his name without cursing ever again.

These are difficult times, I also have some Evraz, I've not lost hope in them as Roman seems a straight sort, and they have some good assets in the states. Fingers crossed. I think research is the key. Good luck.

It's probably best to stick to one's own methods, but I have found that in turbulant times there are also good opportunities. I suppose I might trade once or twice a month on average, that increases risk I know, that's just my comfort level. if one is unsure I would always recommend a fantasy portfolio for a time to see how it goes, then decide.

New. Whilst the war could lead to increased defence and aero spending I suppose, many stocks will rise if there is a peace deal. Anything with a russ1an aspect especially I would say. It's fingers crossed for all affected by war.

I would agree. I suppose RR's upside potential is if their power station or new engines win customers. But they have been in a steady downtrend shares wise from what I can see.

That combined with the impact on Chinese sales to America makes me question why China would want to cause a devaluation the Dollar.

I too was thinking the same way. One has to consider that these announcements are I suppose in a small way possibly legally binding, but I find (maybe because the people drafting them are not native English speakers? I don't know). them sometimes a bit confusing and or vague. Many here seem to simply automatically translate them into what is typical or historically valid or what suits them personally. But these are not normal times, nor normal actions. Like you possibly, I chew over the wording to consider if there are alternative meanings. I see no fault in that. Others may think differently. After all if not for asking questions, or giving polite relevant replies, what is a notice board for?

When will tories start to ever see reality rather than just defend the indefensible? The £ is down just 8% in the last six months against the Euro also. I don't go to the states much either but I bug fuel, that is priced in Dollars, the £ has devalued by 22% in the last year. So, what use is a 1 p tax cut when petrol is up by 40p a litre due to the pounds crash? Until tories think and support their nation before their political party we are screwed.

Yep. Still here, and still in the black (Just). Will keep away from the war discussions because the trolls just have more time and their programming does not allow for anything other than the party line, so there's no point. There seem to be a number of posters here who take some sort of perverse pleasure from causing worry. I have some EVR as paper and some in an ISA, they are both safe. The paper is more saleable I suppose if and when the stock is released from restriction/relisted somewhere else or in an as yet unknown situation. The ISA shares will also qualify for ALL dividends as previously I've been told by Interactive Investor, and I kept those there to remain tax exempt. Now I don't know and cannot comment on your particular situation, but maybe go higher up the chain, get a confirmation of what was in your account previously and check as to what it is now. You may also be able to transfer to another provider who may reinstate things as they were in a worst case. This is obviously all speculation as I am not an IFA, but people here have been told different things, about ISA holdings so SIPP info may also be similarly confused. If all else fails some sort of complaint to an ombudsman may be in order. Best of luck.
