That's very interesting, I'm with interactive also. For me in the past sells have gone through allowing me to buy within 10 mins or so. (Obviously withdrawing funds takes a couple of days to clear). Why it should take longer I don't understand unless they are building a position themselves, to try to benefit from the wild'ish movements that we have all seen.

Whilst nothing is absolute, during times of high inflation people with money will look to protect it's value. They normally find something else to hedge with. Office/retail property is on the decline, some stocks, the tesla's and balloon like internet overvalued ones and pipe dream startups for instance will fall. I don't thing residential property will fall precipitously as it has in the past because people will just decide not to move and if required lenders will extend repayment terms to protect their own investment in that same property. But in my view, though cash will be husbanded to pick up bargains after any dips, foodstuffs, raw materials and precious metals (especially materials of actual use) will be safer. Though they may loose some of their recent gains. If you look at how China is doing, they are simply capitalising on the weaknesses in the west, it will be difficult for the west to regain some of that.

So, assuming that this is the case, one would think that assets, be they gold, silver or property will benefit? I would seriously doubt that the likes of the war pummeled stocks could sink much more after all they are down about 90% on the year already.

What determines the value of a stock assuming steady/steadying trading conditions (hopefully present after war stops)?
Profits, dividends, future prospects and numbers of shares in circulation.
If people buy stocks in china and other similar countries, why not russia once the troubles have been forgotten?
Until then, if dividends of previous levels are paid (around 25% to 33%) is Poly still not a great investment?
Based on that level of divi is £4.50 so far to go up to?

So you say that you "would" sell. Meaning that you have none now.
In that "few months" the war will be a memory, this stock will be 8p and you will be crying into your tap water.....

To me, we are living in times where it can be said that to a degree at least, "The pen is mightier than the sword". For the cost of a few trolls in a darkened office, world opinion is influenced. We have all seen this. I find this very scary as those used to freedoms and liberty as a matter of course have become sum what complacent and these things that our predecessors have given their lives for (because they knew the true value of them) are being manipulated and lost. We are living in a world where people get more interest advocating the latest lipstick or football boots than established trusted information services disseminating life changing information.

Whilst I do understand your sentiment, (which has been said a number of times by the way), to a degree it has also rightly been said that the war is one of most, if not the most influencing of factors for Poly ATM. Now, as always your view garners a few recommendations, perfectly validly, but assuming that all war/political/other issues were removed, how many posts would be on here every day? 5? 10? 20? not very many that's for sure as very little is happening. I do wonder if those rec's (excepting yourself and one or two others) are just from those that expect to rock up here and benefit from other posters labours and are just peeved that they have to spend one or two extra minutes 'wading' through what they regard as 'unrelated' posts. This place, as any other BB is a 'community/family', sometimes slightly difunctional I accept, but informative non the less. For myself, I do post some 'unrelated' stuff, but nearly always as a rebuttal to what I see as troll/propaganda posts from the 'revisionist VP/russia can do no wrong camp' which does get my goat! That group is always very very vocal here, and I very much doubt that will change (after all they are possibly paid or encouraged to be, and to say nothing to counterbalance it almost (in my view at least) condones/agrees with it. That is inexcusable given the present activities in The Ukraine. All that said and done, if the thread heading is correctly descriptive and the filter button is used, why should it matter much? All sane people want the war to end ASAP but to reward aggression from any side is a very slippery slope.

Why do you say that? POG is a going concern and the POX plant is one of it's assets, it shows how good the management was to have it. Why should, once the short term problems (freeing up cash/war) the price not return to almost the previous level? Have they become less efficient? Will gold price sink precipitously? Are their expected gold reserves being depleted faster than expected? I'm not saying that the problems are tiny but they are finite and mostly geopolitical in nature.

Somebody earlier posted that one could trade the 'Beep' out of this stock ATM. I may be wrong but I don't see it, the wild fluctuations are just the buy/sell spread that the B'tards, I mean, market makers are giving, (just checked this on ii. I don't see this closing until larger volume buyers (there do not seem to be that many sellers either) can be enticed back into the stock. I can't see many selling as to me, all the negatives are already priced in.
