Now a confirmed ship watcher. AM seems to be ploughing its own furrow and is steering a course of a little over 300 degrees, where the other ships near it in the main shipping lane are 320+. Looking at the ships it was until recently travelling with, they are due at Suez on 28th or 29th. Is AM having to kill a bit of time? Please be aware that this question is asked by someone utterly clueless, but something appears to be happening!

Just ESE of Safaga. Impressive progress, Suez 200 miles away. Seems easily attainable by the estimated ETA.
NigWit, I don't think the continued successful progress will do any harm to the SP, even though I agree it wont make it take off. Its all reassuring, which investors like.
Regarding the hook up...we are in the lap of the Gods (to quote good old Freddie Mercury). I have a good feeling, it will go well.

I notice you posting on both HUR and PMG. Now I admit I know far more about the former,and relatively little about the operations side of PMG. Give me your opinion, as an investor in both who I assume knows both companies well, which you regard as the best prospect for a PI over, say, a 5 year horizon.

Although not updated on the site I am looking at for several hours, extrapolating AMs position takes her past Marsa Alam (where incidentally there is an actual Costa coffee in Port Ghalib, I've been there. No tiffin though sadly). This is all beginning to feel real at last as she approaches Suez.

One thing I've missed is whether operations have to be suspended when the oil is transferred to tankers - is there a downtime to factor in, or is it done seamlessly?

That's for an oil tanker I think which are massive compared to AM I would have thought. Also read something about Egypt slashing the cost of transit by 50 % from late last year

Hi LivintheDream. I do agree that the oil crisis (I assume by that you mean the reduction in POO to c.$30/barrel) must have disrupted strategies. I genuinely want to believe in this share and reinvest, as TC made me quite a few quid with Dana. I just hope Dana doesn't transpire to have been a one off rather than a repeatable formula though..

I'd like add but honestly I really cant justify buying any more! As you say, don't fall in love with a share - other than the SP its hard to see what is not to love, but I have to try to stay objective. I may regret that in the fullness of time, In my fantasy (not that type of fantasy!) a time traveller turns up on my doorstep and I give him a cup of PG tips and a couple of grand in exchange for a 10 second glance at the SP graphs of AAU and HUR extending to 2025. How good would that be?

Not being funny but this company doesn't seem to post many RNSs to keep its policyholders informed. The latest page of RNSs on this site spans nearly 3 years! And with a share price of less than 15% of what it was in Jan 2011, nearly 8 years ago and with no dividends in the interim, it is increasingly hard to see it as an 'accelerated Dana' which I think was the promise at the time. Plus Tom Cross, the driving force, is wealthy from Dana and approaching retirement age. Just saying.
I'm not a wind up merchant, or a deramper. I am just an ex shareholder who invested here for long period, basically believing in and investing in the person. Now being an 'ex' investor I can afford the luxury of standing back and being objective. Having been underwater for ages I bailed at the end of May for an average of 70p, think I scraped a break even.
My only point is that those still invested should also to be similarly objective. I am just trying to help, I am as guility of 'falling in love with a share' as the next punter.

Leaving all of the naughty countries behind. Next stop the queue for Suez to proceed into the canal?
