Tis true that, as some of the posters (or should that read 'combatants') have said, FOIL has only ever been promised (or indicated) for H1 2019. We all hoped for as early as possible but we are nowhere near breaching that yet.
I hope for reassurance/clarification on Monday via an announcement, but obviously with an uplift of near 25% over that last couple of weeks we may see a drift downwards (aka buying opportunity!).

I keep lots of records from over the years, back to the early 1980s, I would give myself a heart attack if I added up all my losses! But provided the gains exceed the looses I guess its worth it. Early total losses were Astra fireworks (caught up in arms for Iraq scandal) and Brent Walker. Believe me there were more.
However now (I am 61 at the moment) I am looking to exit direct equity investing in the medium future. I am lucky enough to have a £30k defined benefit pension and am a bloke of simple tastes. I'm (finally) getting weary of worrying what the FTSE is doing each day, what is the price of gold, silver, Brent crude, copper etc.I think its stopping me doing other things.
Better than a psychiatrists chair this board!

Good post, but I think there are a variety of investors here. Due to the way that that Pension arrangements have evolved, specifically the death of defined benefit schemes, there are many who rely on their own investment decisions to provide for their future (and for their family). Bad enough for us fogeys, but worse still for future generations. So people aren't necessarily 'playing' at equity investment with their bingo money. Hence PIs are interested in actively managing their portfolios and keeping abreast of company news.
It also true that we don't know there is a problem, but equally we don't know there isn't one (excuse the double negative). How would we know - because we aren't being informed.

The RNS poll shows the feelings of posters here.
I respect the stance the Company is making on not issuing an RNS every 10 minutes. However there is a big difference between that and what we have. The last operational update I can see is about bunkering in Spain. Nothing about the protracted stopover in Rotterdam etc., now this.
As others have noted the 'big' investors will not be suffering this dearth of information. And yet their investment, by proportion, is probably significantly less than many PIs on this board.
Most here are not the snowflake generation, 24/7 on their phones and expecting constant reassurance. We do however have a reasonable expectation to be kept informed when large part of our savings/ pensions have been committed to an enterprise.
I do think Dr Trice has made the wrong decision here and should consider all the investors in this company, not the chosen few.

Disappointing but we'll get there. We're all watching this too closely and suffering raised blood pressure. None of us knows what is happening so not much point in guessing because we wont be right. We can wait for the RNS on Monday.....oh no, wait, we hardly ever get those...…...
I know we've gone over this before but if the upgrades had been done in a European yard, even if costs were significantly greater, we wouldn't have sailed to and from Du-bloody-bai and everything would have been plugged in during the benign late autumn.

With respect any share that has collapsed and has entered liquidation (Carillion anyone?) is far worse. I cant name them all but there will be several. At least this company is still breathing, not in administration and its shops are trading.

Yes I do, and I logically the economics of one rig seem better than two, what with rigs being quite expensive I believe..... against that the world doesn't appear to be short of oil, so best pump the stuff like b*ggery from several rigs as we have a lot (hopefully) to extract before demand starts to drop in a decade or so?
However, is time for me to shut up and have a coffee and shortbread because this is way beyond my knowledge.

i am disappointed in the companys communications over this critical period. As far as I can see the last operational update was 7 weeks ago. I think we could have expected more.

That does tie up with my original thought that the lack of planned activity until 2020 would prevent this 1 puddle/ 2 puddle confirmation until a couple of years hence.
Again, I know nothing about the oil industry but if it proved to be a single accumulation would HUR eventually just use a single fixed rig for 'full' production?
