RE: ShareProphets20 Jan 2019 11:43
Thanks Van, Value.
Shareprophets might be something I look at, but more from the point of view of 'what on earth have I already bought' rather than 'what shall I invest in next'. I have many holdings, some of which are long held but so underwater they aren't worth selling (or their sale will be timed according to my CGT needs). Looking to the future my intention is to take money out of the market and give to my kids as part of IHT planning, I'm not getting any younger you know! Hence I would support measures by the BOD that would increase SP in the short term over those that fully squeeze ever last drop from the SP over a longer period. I also want to exit individual shareholdings and replace with collective ones, not because the market doesn't interest me, but because my personality means I get a bit too focussed. I feel the time I spend agonising about AAU, HUR etc means I am missing out on other adventures while I am (relatively) young (my hobbies are skiing, classic cars, scuba diving, cycling, hill walking etc. Oh, and beer)
I have 2 major holdings, one of which is AAU. AAU is far more worrying in the sense of its tiny MC (hopefully to be remedied soon!). However I think AAU is also more underpinned unless POG crashes because there is already a viable operation in W Turkey supporting the SP (even if Salinbas were to come to nothing, I know the JORC numbers but no investment decision has been made yet).
DJ - did anyone ever tell you that you are properly weird!!
LOB & Claret Ok, only a 0-0 draw but that's a valuable point towards safety
