I don't trade AAU, very hard to profit with a spread as large as it usually is.
I have traded HUR quite a bit over the last few years, its very up and down.

Youzlez, I refer to my post at 19.55, which I must have been typing when you sent yours. Cut them some slack, can be a feisty but you'll get used to it.

Hi Genghis, I too have watched it through a second time (not counting the first when I had a kip halfway through). WD is one thing, but do you (or anyone else who wants to speak to me) think there is any danger of recurrence of the problems with 'skinning' found on the Halifax drill - or do we think that lessons were learned that are sufficient to prevent reoccurrence?

Don't mean it really, we just need an offload on time to confirm EPS flow to date is per the CMD presentation and a positive result at Lincoln Crestal. That would surely cause a re rate?

Slightly confused by this. I asked Dr S about AS in the last presentation in London, basically would the pit be maintained free of water (flooding happens to abandoned pits in UK). He said at the time that they weren't yet ready to abandon the pit in case of deeper seams, and if they did the plan is to use AS to 'lose' the spoil already accumulated and arising from AN and Deyra. Didn't say at the time that drilling at AS was imminent (unless I dozed off). I assume this is targeted, as even though it wasn't expected I am concerned that a negative result would be seen as that …. negative on sentiment. Perhaps the plan is to confirm that AS is truly mined out so they can commence to dump in there? Forgive me, I'm rambling on!

This is in 'falling knife' territory at the moment. Unless someone is 'in the know', which is of course totally possible with AIM, I await the next relevant RNS before deciding what to do. With no support this can obviously go lower than this over the next few days. In my bones I know logically something is badly wrong here, but could be an opportunity if by some miracle all is well. In the latter case why would the management not put out a statement to reassure investors given this plunge?

Sorry to see this news, I honestly am. Per my post 4th July, FOX is not going to get anywhere if the senior management remains. Investors in tiny operations like this have to believe they have discovered an overlooked secret, but this one just seems to stumble from mediocrity to mediocrity. You have the almost inexhaustible quality assets, a modern plant, cheap labour force, this should be romping along. Where is the STAR Alliance now (or whatever I was called), they cant even run their own business successfully let alone get involved in that ? But how many here, even those who normally send bullish posts, actually secretly dread the next RNS? GLA, and I mean that

Sold half of mine this morning, but will watch closely and buy back if news improves. I cant see why this has downturned so quickly, but then again the board seem to put out bland, slightly encouraging news followed later by 'o dear it hasn't worked yet' updates. I need to see more real progress before believing in this again.

Ash, MakinHay, agree with both of you. At 9000 this quarter per day it will take c.40 days to be full to bursting. The first offtake was around 18th June so looking at end of July. CMD was a week ago, 11th, so the use of the word 'imminent' was, shall we say, enthusiastic.

Daft question, but is Amundsen Spirit the offtake tanker that the AM will always use or are these tankers like taxis - you hail the next available one?

Comments? Not really surprised gold production is down. Mined material seems at a high grade unless I am reading wrong but the amount (and grade) through the plant was down. Silver production stayed strong but the average POG and POS over the quarter will have been down over the quarter. I can see the Q2 financial result being a fair bit weaker than Q1.
I can't see what will drive the share price higher in the short term other than a significant rise in POG and/or POS and an investment decision being taken for Tavsan. Anyone any thoughts?

My take on things (dull post warning) is that the Salinbas update came over as a bit of a damp squib, but we are expecting a less sparse release once results are fully analysed (see biggles on Advfn from the 11th, where he mentions a conversation he had with MDV, my interpretation of which is that the next Salinbas release may be a bit more exciting). Continuing gold strength is good, ok its not going through the roof like some (other than DJ and me) expect but a new stability at this level is good imo - the margin for AAU at $1400 increases by 10% compared to $1300. A decent set of Q2 figures and a funky Tasvan update in addition could easily see a return to 2.5.
The more astute will already recognise that this post is me justifying to myself why I have just reinvested my HUR money here!! Not sure why LSE has not reported it (2 lots of 500k), I don't really trust that part of the service they provide.

Hi Paul. I have seen him appear very occasionally on the other board. He used to be a prolific poster on ii, and it was his constant enthusiasm about this share that got me interested although I didn't post myself then. Hope he's ok.

I think there is sometimes a valid argument that, with the fine tolerances that make a F1 car successful, the car is designed specifically to suit the number 1 driver. But that having been said Hamilton has proved it all and he's British, and I'm proud of that. Funny thing is that you can be knighted for riding a bike, running fast or whacking a tennis ball. What else does LH have to do?

Hi M2. Profit for the year will depend on POG/POS (I love stating the obvious. Never mind it will give ammunition for our resident troll. Must be charitable and keep him happy).
The Q2 financial result will be subdued because of the Apr - June (inc) average of <$1300 Au, but will hopefully be significantly higher throughout Q3. With lower grades due as we progress through 2020 I can't help feeling that they wont be going for maximum possible output in 2019. That is just an unsubstantiated guess of course. Maybe they will aim to just exceed the 2019 guidance (think 25k oz), and keep a similar guidance for next year?
