This is symptomatic of the useless Aim mrkt in promoting one of the better stocks listed. OK, investor inertia is endemic in London as most prefer to punt their monies in blue sky mining mortuary stocks. Thank goodness I bght some a lot lower and will continue to hold out for £6 minimum. I hold another Aim stock showing profits and future promise given that's a 2/2 its a minor miracle for my stocks picking prowess!

I'm sticking with MSi for better or worse. I don't fancy hitching my sails to a new stock with all the diligence needed. Its just too bloody late in my investing career to switch horses mid stream. Good luck if your considering adding.

You may think the shares are absurdly cheap at c.10x earnings. Trust me it makes no difference when the stock is in a bears vice like grip. And let's dispense with this nonsense about the lack of liquidity.

There's plenty of stock to go round as the jobbers have to keep a 2 way mrkt viable. They may 'massage' the mrkt by unreasonable spreads and other tricks of the trade but that's to be expected if the stock is only seeing one way trading or they need to drum up some business in quiet periods.

The sensible option is to buy and hold (you have to be a believer) which takes out the 'when to sell' or 'fomo' problem.

And.....just think of the sums Starmer is throwing away on carbon capture, sending money to far off war torn lands and gadding about the world to no great effect when he should be behind his desk in Downing St having constructive discussions with himself.

To be fair Europe's gdp is below ours so that must be a comfort to him when his personal ratings are at historic lows and we face a possible recession in 2025 thanx to Thieves broken promises & mishandling of the economy.

Heading to half way trading remains slightly above the 30 day turnover average. In volume terms 28,000 this week (buys 13,800 v sells 14,200) shares down to 940.

If we're to have a Santa Rally it starts on Monday the 23rd through to Jan 3.

Latest inflation nos 2•6% and cost of living increases won't make for a very merry Christmas for many especially OAPs many of whom have lost their WFA.

While Thieves, the Rev Starmer et al enjoy a sumptuous Noel free of concerns about keeping the home fires burning most of us will have the heating off covered by an electric blanket as water, gas & electric companies plan to pile on price increases in the New Year.

We may escape a recession but it will be a close run thing considering what's on the horizon in April.

The Dow fell 268 to close lower for the 9th straight session logging its longest losing streak since 1978 (1297 points). The Nsdq and 500 fell in sympathy. On the Dow 10 stocks gained led by J&J, Coca Cola & Nike. Heading down Nvidia which slipped to no 3 in the biggest global company stakes & Goldman Sachs. United Health has been the bigest drag on the Dow this month dropping 18%.

Data showing stronger than forecast retail sales growth in Nov of 0•7% was in part due to motor vehicle purchases. This is consistent with strong underlying momentum of a resilient economy. The Fed is widely expected to make a 25bp cut in rates today the last for 2024.

The USD has soared 6% since the start of October its best Q since 2022. Many think the USD will make further gains to reach parity with the Euro. Vols on US exchanges reached 16•17bn well above the 14•11bn DMA.

A little bit more interest at the start of the Xmas festivities for MSi holders not in an upward direction but you know the bears are in control of the shares.

In my opinion this is the worst time of the year to be making any decisions about 2025 and I don't trade / buy until late January at the earliest.

January is usually a good month for equities as investors buy into the "January effect" whereby they believe stocks will rise throughout the year if January has proven positive.

For instance the ftse gained 320 points and the DJI surged 960 during the first week of January 2023. To date 2024 looks positive but not up to the gains seen last year.

Doubt that has much baring on share prices for 2025 as there are too many imponderables that far ahead. I'm inclined to agree with Roger in that the shares will trade in a narrow band unless we hear of a bid, or the defence business being sold.

It's a mixed to lower picture for stocks across Asia heading into the final stretch of 2024. Tokyo is trading flat at the morning break though exporters and motors are seeing buyers.

In Shanghai investors are underwhelmed by the Govts latest batch of stimulus measures that left much to be desired as hundreds of unwanted high rise properties in Shanghai remain empty.

Yet Shanghai's main index is up 14% this year driven by cash from savings accounts, margin financing and money borrowed from stockbrokers to a 9 year high of USD 256bn. In Beijing speculative fever runs red hot as the BSE50 of start up stocks is up 112% since Sept.

Elsewhere Pacificas and Australia are lower in directionless trading with the ASX200 closing 51 lower due to weakness in energy & mining stocks adding to losses in the previous 4 sessions. The ASX200 trades stubbornly below the 8300 level with the Santa Rally in reverse gear.

Afternoon Roger, yea spent 10 years in Malaya as was then on rubber plantations so wouldn't have the skills for MSi. Anyways been long retired now. I'm pretty sure I'd be unemployable nowadays as I'd be classed either over qualified or too stupid.

I feel for those seeking work in this age with dozens chasing one job. Assuming you even get a reply to your application the odds are stacked against you.

Blimey I wonder how many people will fit those qualities? It's almost as if the bar is set so high noone will be good enough. I remember years ago when I was applying for jobs I was asked by one examiner two questions.

"Do you know the product "?

And can you sell sand to the Arabs? I got the job.

Let us know how you fare down the local greasy spoon! You might struggle to find any employees of MSi as I couldnt find the company even listed in Doncaster let alone among its bigest employers. Its certainly not in the top 10 employers which is odd for a long standing public ltd Co.

PS. After a long search I did find one ref to MSi in the Doncaster companies listed among the fastest growing in the region.....

I agree share buybacks would be impractical given the minute free float of give or take c.4m. I hear of other investors, one being in a gold mining expo company saying there are no shares around and this with a free float of 200m, granted its not a £10 a share stock! Yet MSi manage to satisfy all comers. Makes you wonder.

I'm unsure about a special dividend payment. I would rather the company use any monies raised to invest into the defence side as it might attract a better rating as a stand alone? That has obvious risks.

Whatever the permutations I rather think the board will go for the easy option of doing as little as possible to upset the status quo as the upheaval might not be worth the candle at this stage of the companies evolution.

Another down week for MSi holders with no info to move the share price and no Santa Rally for us which rarely extend into micro cap Aim stocks. Vols weren't bad at 101,045 traded over 122 bargains dealt. Shares fell 20 on the week to 980-990.

We live in hope pharmhall. But be prepared to be disappointed as I think strategic changes will be limited to more a moving of the chairs than any root & branch cutting. Surely the time has come to throw the companies weight behind the defence business?

Spend more on defence warned Nato boss as Putin gears up to be more aggressive. In his first major speech he urged Europe to spend more on its defence and take a more war minded mindset. Currently Europe spends c.$150bn on defence.

The UK spends c.2•5% on defence short of the optimum 3%+ which many consider the bare minimum.

While Russia is hardly in a position to attack Europe the UK would be no match for Russia should hostilities break out given the state of our armed forces. In a further blow to Rachel Thieves the economy contracted in Oct by 0•1% when expected to expand.

Trump has urged Nato countries to spend more on defence as only 23 of 32 members will meet the 2% target this year. During the cold War Europe spent more than 3% of GDP on defence.

We may not be at war but we're also not at peace.

The Dow closed lower for the 6th consecutive session as producer prices rose more than forecast in November. Increased jobless claims added to the disquiet ahead of the Fed meet next week. However neither report rang warning bells as Powell is expected to keep on cutting rates next week & year albeit at a slower pace.

The Nsdq which surged past 20,000 on Wed hitting a record high of (21,622) came under selling pressure as Adobe ($475) the photoshop maker fell 14% after forecasting 2025 revenues below expectations. Big tech took the brunt of selling. However Warner Bros Discovery ($12•27) soared 15% after reorganising its cable TV business from the streaming and studio operations.

Nvidia retains its no 2 spot in the global big company stakes by $69m ahead of Msoft ($3•342T). There are 8 $1tn+ companies on the list headed by Apple ($3•748T).

Volumes on US exchanges were 13•61bn below the 20 day average of 14•17bn. The S&P posted 10 new highs & 9 new lows while the Nsdq recorded 86 new highs and 154 new lows.
