Anyone any ideas when I press message to post all that comes up is dictionary in the space reserved for the message. I don't know how to get rid of 'dictionary' I use a Samsung mob.

Asia is trading modestly lower on the first days trade of 2025 after negative cues from Wall in the previous session as traders await a slew of economic data from the region.

Volumes were light amid holidays in Japan and NZ. Of the mrkts trading HK and SH are down 2% as investors weary of the Govts lack of a suitable stimulus in tackling the economy. Taiwan all fell back on profit taking while Sydney closed modestly higher up 42 at 8201 despite Australia's PMI falling for the 11th consecutive month of deteriorating manufacturing conditions.

What I love about the series apart from the obvious (characters & story lines) is you can randomly select any episode and be entertained. Definitely up there in my top 10 all-time box sets.

A strong US economy, the Ai explosion and Fed Reserve rate cuts ended a remarkable year for equities as the market powered to record highs. The Nsdq and 500 closed at levels not seen since '97/'98. The benchmark 500 ended with its second straight year of 20%+ gains ending just short of the 6000 level.

Despite a damp squib end to trading in 2024 investors remain confident that global equities will muddle through Russia / Ukraine and Middle East strife as a pro US business President takes the helm.

The years rally went beyond stocks. Bitcoin below $17,000 two years ago climbed above $100,000 and gold shattered records on its way to a 27% annual gain. Brent oil disappointed falling 5% for its second straight year loss on over supply worries.

Morning all.

We closed the Calender year today with a half days trading. Vols were better than I expected as 56 trades were dealt over the shortened week. Sells over the 2 days outpaced buys by 19,600 to 7700 continuing the bearish trend of the last month. The shares underperformed over the year, gaining a measly 6% which for a so called growth stock is poor.

Hi pharmhall the FT used to be a staple of my diet back in the day but no longer given it costs an arm and a leg and I can get it from my local library for nix.

I missed the article you mentioned but whether any significance to MSi I don't know. Meanwhile I guess we twiddle our thumbs waiting for scraps from the table as the shares head sub 900. I hope to pick up some.

Have a good New Year all. I won't be seeing it in that's for sure. My local which sees the end of an era as Alison is leaving the pub after 30 years as the best landlady in South London is having a final New Year's bash tonight (ticket only ltd to 125) fully booked.

With some Eastern mrkts already closed for the New Year trading was mixed to lower in most other mrkts heading into a half-day today. Sydney suffered sustained selling pressure to end the year down 76 at (8159).

HK is up a few in lacklustre trade while over in Shanghai the SHCOMP is off 45 as profit takers trim gains of the last 3 sessions. Taiwan closed down 155 at 23,035 the best performer of 2024 among major Far Eastern bourses.

Strange how some boards don't consider investors who haven't been in a stock since 1066 to be worthy of opinion. As far as I'm concerned all are welcome to the MSi forum in fact the more the better as new ideas and opinions are vital to the lifeblood of chat boards.

Although this board is quiet we do have knowledgeable & sensible participants free of some of the invective and backbiting of other communes, no names but there are a few obvious ones.

As we close out 2024 the shares are slipping on small lot sellers squaring their positions ready for 2025. How we fare looking further ahead I have no idea as the board are reluctant to to keep investors up to date it makes any forecasts at best pure guesswork.

Perhaps the board will address this investor bugbare in the forthcoming review?

It's a mixed picture at the start of a new year's stock market trading in Asia despite it still being 2024, most exchanges had a good year except S.Korea which fell 9% thanks to political turmoil and lacks support from investors.

Tokyo is significantly lower ending the session down 387 falling below the 40,000 mark after rising 700 on Friday. Motors, exporters and techs led the declines.

Major losers included Nissan off 6% & Japan Steel down 4%. Economic data from the manufacturing sector cont to contract in Dec.

Elsewhere across Asia and Pan Pacifica exchanges lack direction but are essentially flat to mixed. Sydney bounced off a 8150 session low to close down 27 at 8235.

Morning all.

How's the Santa Rally going this year? Well so far so good the shares up 40 with only 2 and a half days left in 2024 and closing on Tuesday Jan, 3rd.

Not a great deal to beat in 2025 as MSi disappointed in '24 rising c.9%. Outpacing Aim should be a 'given' but just pipping the All Share index (+6%) was frustrating.

So here's to a lot better for this year!!
