Cpo closed wk 40 at $758 averaging $759 on the week. Ytd cpo runs at $691. REA volumes were well down on last few wks at c.39k, shares slipped 2, Anglo off 9 Mpe gained 40, Dkl added 0.35 and Epa slipped •125 all prices indicative.

If the ftse ranking list was being done today RR would be in at no 154 (ex the RI monies).

Called 420 lower....ouch!

I like that Sir! Probably unworkable. I make it a point not to comment on shares I have no holding or interest in.
I hold RR which is going through a vicious upheaval similar to IAG. A big

IAG rec'd acceptances in respect of 2.979bn new shares representing 100% of the total number of new shares issued.

I have decided to take the loss on my RR and sell today or first thing Monday. I'll wait for the shares to go xr and with luck buy back at below the exr price. So looking for 30-50 buy back price shortly, which if I have called it right i could buy c.3000 shares if the investment case stacks up with all the rights money (its underwritten) and I see no reason for it to change.

As it stands I dont have the spare c.£1100 to take up my rights. In my experience sps often fall below rights prices when all the dust is settled so it makes sense to buy then. We will have to see how it pans out.

Morning devonplay I did read that article, not good needless to say. I hope no such practices occur on any REA estates which from what I have read the labour force is well looked after with many side benefits. I hope REA estate management will double check for any abuses and if any get stamped out immediately.

Since I misguidedly bght RR at 208+ costs the stock has dropped 92.(44%)...I can pick'em! I was aware that a RI was a possibility but tbh thought other options would suffice. A 6•4 bn share raise at 32 might just be sticking plaster if they cannot dispose of ITP Aero at fire sale prices leaving RR exposed to further cash raises in 2022.
Should air travel not recover to 70% of pre covid miles and Defence spending is withheld due to Govt finances and the ghastly thought of Nationalising RR should the Tories lose the next election is too ghastly to contemplate.

That's too far ahead for the av pis to calculate so buying now one is taking a lot on trust. At my stage in life one spec share is enough as my £2100
holding is headed to £800 shortly and yes, I shudda sold at £1800. I have written off my shares in RR as it's going to be like climbing Everest once all the new shares hit the mrkt.

Any bounce in the sp has long gone now and the mrkt will continue to accommodate the shorters who have had all their Chritmase's come in September. Regrets? I have had a few but then too many to mention...I did what I had to do and saw it through....you get the picture. Wish I had given this more thought. I was seduced by the history of RR, a great British World Renown Engineering Co
that made the Spitfire engines, powered nuclear subs, power stations, electric planes and now supersonic air travel and would never go bust. Here we are headed to penny share status having joined the 90% club with REA a more disparate pair of bed fellows I ever did see.

Seems since the good results some investors have decided to sell. That's as it should be. Whoever said REA was a 'forever' share? .Hopefully You move on with a profit to new opportunities and good luck to you.

I find that strategy (selling REA) problematical for a few reasons, a) out of the frying pan...b) fear of missing out on a potential bagger (I'm joking), c) do I REALLY understand what I'm buying into & d) why? There are other concerns obviously. This will not be of interest to 'day traders' of whom I doubt we have any here... if we do they must be starving! Which makes me more convinced to stay here and practice some 'masterly inactivity.' Over the years I have become an expert at doing that, some say that's buring your head in the sand. I say best place to be.

It's a pleasure to come back to the 'Oasis' serenity of the REA board, where we can sit round the camp fire and open a bottle or two of robust reds with a (targine?) of melded lamb. I wish that was true,

.......I have involved myself briefly on the RR board which has become a cess pit of vitriolic posts from newcomer ingenue share advisors exhorting holders to do 'this' n' that 'n t'other from their wide experience of buying Shell & BP.

...Oh well, I admit my timing was off by maybe 30p having bght at 208, so be it. The rights announced today on a 3 old for 10 new at 32 is a massive swerve as far as I'm concerned (too complicated to go into here for a small 1000 holder).

I hope any new readers learn from my poor investment decisions but at the end of.... you sink or swim by your own decisions, (can't wim em 'all) nobody elses, that way you can only beat yourself up.

As long as you are satisfied and are comfortable about your buy and have no regrets (well you do, dont you?) that's when your problems start.

Most Asian bourses are closed for local holidays. Tokyo closed early due to a computer/mechanical breakdown and its unknown whether trading will be resumed tomorrow. Mrkts in Malaysia, Singapore & Indonesia were working as normal.

I'd advise those thinking of buying the shares of Rolls Royce the well known car maker to consider adding Astra Zeneca that other well known maker of Vauxhall Astras to their portfolios.

I never give investment advice on BBs but thought I should clear this up in case investors are considering a purchase of RR if they announce funding plans this morning. Caveat Emptor, DYOR etc...

October surprise, surprise is historically one of the better months returning a positive 1% yet also the most volatile with a Vix av of 22.5. Last Oct the 500 added 61 (3038) & the Dow gained 129 (27046).
Yesterday the Dow traded in a 515 points range buffeted by the likelihood of the Senate agreeing a relief package then tanking 250 when Senator Mitch McConnell said "no chance."
The Chicago PMI and pending home sales were way better than expected but US airlines collectively say they aim to cut another 32,000 jobs and Disney added to the jobs gloom by planning to lose some 28,000 more workers mostly in their theme parks.

Following the shambolic debate Biden consolidates his lead in the polls with a predictive 62% win. Remember the odds makers gave Chump no chance against Hilary.....

Not a good outcome ytd but who could have forecast the events of 2020 to date? By no means are we on the 'home run' and while commodities have perked up & palm cos nos have been excellent considering everything.....we are still in the grip of depressed share prices, the mrkt in an unforgiving mood, where good news has lowered most palm company share prices.....

.......Theres a breathless hush in the close tonight, 10 to make and the match to win, a bumpy pitch and a blinding light, an hour to play and the last man in....kinda sums up where we are now, well as far as REA holders are concerned (heh heh heh).

Might be worth reading Ardens exhaustive research piece on Dkl-Agri the West African palm oil producer. They have a price target of 7 on Dkl's sp which would value the tiny producer (less than 2000pha/515,000MT output) at more than REA if it ever reached said price, c.£32m! Forecasts are for profits to reach £7•8m in 2025.

I have a target price of 300 on REA but it will never get there in my lifetime and forecasts are just that. Pointless talking about profits 4 years away because your DCF model can go seriously t's up if you price in rates, costs, or time period down the line incorrectly.
Anyways lots of interesting graphs etc.., though you might want to skip the cashew nuts operation which has obvious attractions as another income stream. Hardman used to do this sort of stuff for REA but they've gone missing.

JPMC the large US investment bank has been fined $920m for 'spoofing' (market manipulation) the mrkts in metal futures and treasury securities.
Spoofing is used by dishonest traders to give the impression there is demand through millisecond trades when there is none as these are cancelled almost immediately giving a wholly misleading view. Its 'win-win' for them. JPMC stock put on 21c after hours.

Banks usually see their stock go up after trader skullduggery. This is the Bank who have a 60p price target on RR. That values the company at less than my corner shop. The fine is derisory for JPMC made $4.7bn in net income to June. Cheating the mrkts is fine especially if committed by a large well known Bank who come under the 'too big to fail' category.
