Number 3 to add to your list, given recent significant deal between BP and Iraq / SOMO, is perhaps for BP to take over some or all of APIKUR members.

This would remove the issue of monies owed and let SOMO deal with a single entity with whom they have a working relationship.

Iraq aren’t going to let the KRG do well out of any deal so that precludes an acceptable deal with IOCs at present.

But at what price for GKP, Genel, DNO etc???

Beg to disagree - Motley Fool are always rubbish. They provide the worst market advice available.

And they're immediately cancelling shares bought back - many companies just leave them in treasury. Then they mysteriously reappear as bonus or share award shares for staff.

I get the general strategic idea of BBs. My question was more over the tactics employed which are totally different between US and UK brokers (see RNS trade details).

In the UK it seems to be 4 or 5 large buys a day whilst the US yesterday was hundreds of buys, all less than 100 shares at a time.

Started buying at 11.7 and finished at 12.1 - hundreds of tiny trades.

Is that really the best strategy to buy cheap shares or is that a strategy to drive share price up?

Very different from the BB trades in the UK - but hey it supported the share price and bought back a significant number of shares 😀

They were up over 9% last night on about 3.5k shares - pre-market didn’t match this morning though 😀

He forecast a share price lift at end of Feb, beginning of March, end of March and at every X post since then. How many times can he be wrong?

Can't resist. You really are dim! Changing the law for oil production costs doesn't change any game and certainly wasn't the last domino! The stumbling blocks remain as they ever were:

- how is monies owed going to be paid to IOCs - and by whom / when?

- IOCs aren't bothered about being paid for production costs alone, they want a share of worldwide market selling prices and hence profits.

Do you really not see that IOCs don't want production and transport costs, they want profit so they can expand, diversify and restart paying dividends to shareholders? They get more than production costs with local sales.

In Nov 24 it is reported the plant will start up early 25, now late April 25 there is still no news of a successful start up and “normal” operation. I think they’d be shouting if it was working.

The Share price is trashed because the current management continually make poor decisions for shareholders. There is a link!

They have $440 million of liquidity as of last senior note issue late March - they’re paying interest on that whether they use it or not so lots available for BBs (unless it’s earmarked for an acquisition). It’s difficult to see what could be more accretive than buying back at this price.

You could grow your own veg and keep a pig and a few chickens in the back garden and reduce it.

Getting the pipeline open is easy - getting a fair deal that convinces the IOCs to give SOMO oil to put through it is far from easy with Iraq involved.
