Is showing volume of 160,000 shares - it’s normally about 2,000.

This in addition to yesterday’s volume being almost 600,000, 15% above normal average.

Anyone know if US aftermarket buys prior to xd day still qualify for the dividend, rather than close of day before?

You’d imagine all parties entering into contracts of this size would do a fair bit of due diligence on the other, not just to prevent financial loss but to ensure the expertise and manpower you were contracting for would be available for the duration of the contract.

All these companies signing contracts must be pretty positive WG will be a going concern in some form in the future. Do they get more info than us???

I haven’t lost a penny as I haven’t sold (though still down about 20% ex divs across SIPP and ISA), am still getting more in dividends than I would in a savings account and SP seems to have turned a corner. No XD drop yet today, first time for a while. So markets do seem to see some value here.

Rusty isn’t going anywhere so you need to accept that and get over previous tactical decisions you don’t agree with.

It’s nothing like your probability example because you’re talking about immediate action and I’m talking longer term.

Not all the SP fall is acquisition based, there are wars, ARO scares, legal challenges and short attacks to consider as well.

I’m not saying he’s perfect but we don’t know what options were available to complete deals at the time and he presumably thought some short term pain was worth it. He may yet be proved correct.

I’m happy to wait and see, you’re resigned to wait with a bit of trading to help out - seems JC thinks moaning repetitively is the best course of action!

Or …. He might have done the same thing 8 times in a row thinking it was the best course of action for the long term.

Only time will tell.

PS - if it’s a doom loop it can’t reverse. If it’s a drop in share price due to risk it can 😀

I think you may have mentioned all of that repeatedly, over and over again.

He didn’t “wilfully trash” the share price, he made some poor decisions which resulted in that - I very much doubt it was intentional!

His tactics have been sub optimal on some occasions but you don’t know what his options were at the time. I still think his overall strategy of ‘buy when asset prices are low whatever the short term cost’ may yet be the correct one in the long term.

However, as you say, doing nothing now seems to be working well. Various posters (including the two of us) have been saying for years we need some stability, pay down of debt and ability to compare Q on Q and Y on Y finances and production to justify a higher share price.

It’s looking like that might be where we are now heading so let’s enjoy it!

Terry, I know you love a bit of doom and gloom around DEC but a few comments on your maths:

- as per the RNS, $49M -$22M does give the 27M figure you use to establish share value in ET purchase. However, on 31 Oct 24 the shares were at £9.35 (so $12.60 - not the $11.74 you choose to use.

- end of Oct to today is 7 months, not 6!

- the 850,000 shares bought back at 13.95 are now worth about 14.40 so you need to factor that in as well.

Still expensive looking I’ll give you that but if DEC are going to make acquisitions they have to use debt (which you don’t seem to like) or equity (which you also don’t like).

You and Terry bang on about shareholder value but over what timeframe? No-one can run a company ensuring that all shareholders can sell at a profit at all times. We gamble that over time (which is different for all of us) we can make a profit.

Share price still rising, trend improving and less shares in circulation - you must like one of those 😀

Difficult to know whether the Genel element of production is included in the DNO figures or independently accounted for - I’d expect the latter to keep company accounts clean.

Although DNO’s sales to cashflow conversion rate is about 50% that doesn’t mean Genel’s is (less economies of scale, more money wasted not diversifying and paying legal costs etc).

Assume Genel sell about 25% of 20M/month, that’s 15M a quarter and with a less efficient sales to cashflow conversion (35%) you could get down to 5M ish.

On the other hand - it might be something totally different. 😀

In Feb you were saying that KRG, Iraq and the IOCs would have an agreement to open the pipeline within weeks.

Do you think Iraq taking legal action against KRG makes this more or less likely?

Strange BB strategy indeed.

Firstly they jumped from uk to us share purchases around 24 April.

Then they were at pretty high volumes but never above $13.

Have to say if I was co-ordinating BBs I’d set a max price then pause and reconsider.

Guess they have to decide at this price whether BBs or debt repayment are the priority (or perhaps they’re now saving cash for next dividend payment).

Does anyone (other than Prophet) actually think that even if the pipeline opens, once SOMO take their cut, the KRG take theirs and the pipeline operators take theirs we’ll ever get more than $35 / barrel?

And it’s paid in advance, not a month in arrears, 3 months in arrears or never at all.

I think KRG and APIKUR stick 2 fingers up to Baghdad and say “you started this, give us a call when you have a more profitable contract than this.”

That’s an optimistic statement from Myles. One PM wants independence and the other wants the destruction of KRG’s autonomy! Bit like Nicola Sturgeon and Boris having shared objectives; except these guys have military force, religious and tribal differences and enormous self interest at stake.
