Show’s FCF must be good. There was a time they had to scrabble down the back of the sofa to fund 2 or 3 thousand share BBs.

Hopefully they’re also chucking money at paying down debt in parallel. Proving their debt mountain is manageable and decreasing faster than planned is what will encourage potential investors.

BB - indeed it is their country but they chose to accept foreign investment and expertise to assist the development of their resources.

The population of both areas would be better off if this investment was rewarded by honouring extant contracts.

I didn’t see it as a single trade, just the volume so assumed it was a dividend hunter (or several hunters).

I don’t think anyone would attempt to predict future SP (how often are analysts correct?) but I think it will continue to drift upwards (I don’t see a massive re-rate, rather a gradual acceptance that FCF is increasing and risk is decreasing over time). As for dividends we know they aren’t changing for a while so no point predicting that.

As an aside, I’m not an OB sycophant either. I’m actually barred from his substack for:

- pointing out that shorters weren’t melting away when he said they were.

- pointing out that high cost debt is worse than lower cost debt.

- suggesting diversification into more oil might not be a good idea.

- suggesting a period of consolidation would help SP.

I didn’t say what the shares were worth I said I haven’t lost until I sell. This is true for tax reasons and all other reasons.

Your burnt house and car analogies are rubbish as they are not going to increase in value.

Think in reverse, if my house is now worth £50k more than I bought it for have I made money? Nope, not til I sell it. Ditto shares - had we made money when DEC SP was £1.40 - nope, because we didn’t sell.

You’re really losing the plot and any credibility now.

I’m not a sycophant as I’m saying he did make tactical errors BUT his strategy might be correct. I’m not rejoicing he might make another acquisition, I’m hoping we stay as we are for a year or two having made sufficient acquisitions, even though they might have been more expensive to fund than we would have liked.

If you want a debate then fine - if you’re just going to make up stuff then you’re wasting everyone’s time.

You also need another dictionary check - if the deal is accretive then it’s not diluting value 😀😀

Terry - at time of my last posts I was being quoted 1080 plus to buy, which I thought was higher than expected for xd day. Tempted to sell my 940 and 1020 £10k chunks (especially as I’d got the divi) but will see what happens, still think it will carry on upwards.
