The way I'm seeing THG is, that Apollo were serious and even sent people over to try and do a deal, Moulding can't now make a low ball offer to take it private because if its lower than Apollos offer there could be severe repercussions, other US IIs were buying in and building significant stages in April in the 80s, and Moulding needs to do something before his golden share expires in September.
Lastly the wording in Apollos statement " reserve to right to buy shares" seems a hidden message in itself.
Yep the business is loss making, the City hate Moulding and vice versa, it will be whacked at every opportunity, but if he's walked away from another bid between 150-200 he must have other plans in motion.
My punt here isn't on the fundentals, it's on the likelihood that it will go private at some point.
