RE: This article is really conflicted, sounds like us...20 May 2023 10:35
But it does get to a point when you feel emotionally attached to a share, been waiting so long, if I sell may miss out, its my banker, etc etc, but the reality is NEX is pretty much the only supposedly sound company than barely moves a percentage point, the downward trend is there for all to see since the profit Warning last June, and the city just will not get behind it, even a little bit, for some reason.
If you have a large holding like me 100k plus shares, there is nothing wrong imo with trimming some off and using that elsewhere where your money is actually going to work for you, and leave a core holding here for the long term.
Until the profit margin actually shows improvement as per their evolve strategy 22-27, I think we are stuck unless some miraculous bid emerges or the board take steps to address the awful shareholder return evident since the pandemic, assuming you didn't trade into a profit or loss last year.
It is frustrating when you see lots if other stocks surge past leaving this in their wake, especially if you're heavily in.
My plan is to leave my sipp and ISA holdings long term, and trim off my share account holding by 20 or 30 k shares to use elsewhere, because I think this will come good eventually but may not be for another year or so.
