EasyP, I am not one of them as most will know. But the copper price affects sentiment amongst the miners and explorers and some of the rise will be incorporated into various PEAs, PFSs etc. A rising cu price is better than a falling one, I think you will agree.

JohnZ, thats not right either! The weighting is a factor of the share price and if the weighting falls cos the share price has fallen, there is no need for them to do anything.
There are various reasons why GDXJ may have to buy or sell, daily or on a quarterly rebalancing, but sp movements isnt one of them.

Kevin0541, I think you may be confusing Sprott with GDXJ. Sprott did have to top slice as their holding got too big. GDXJ is a tracker so that would be bonkers if it chose to deliberately not track the index! GDXJ will only be buying and selling as their etf has new money or redemptions.
