MMS do not tie up capital taking LT positions. Their preference is always for lots of volume and they take the spread. Directional trading is not their game plan and just think a) how much they would need to know about every stock they make a mkt in and b) how many stocks there are. They just dont have that capital. Winterflood, was/is one of the largest MMs in the smallcap world and they arent well capitalised.
I know they are an easy target but I really dont think you understand their modus operandi.

Although the market conditions are 'tough' for most companies, especially retailers etc, I would say that if there is a sweet spot, its in gold mining. With the commodity up 20% this year there should be appetite from the commodity/mining/gold funds to support a company that is negatively correlated to the market. Just MO.

Spy, I think they might expire on Sat actually. So after Friday is closed, they will be worthless IMO (assuming that we are 2p or lower).
Assuming all that I would guess that news and price movement next week.

Lesotch. I am thinking you dont understand warrants. Your message doesnt make sense. Warrants arent bought out, they are exercised or expire worthless. There arent 212 million shares unless the warrants are exercised and I dont think NC own any of the warrants.

Unless you arent a shareholder Spy, it does affect you. Exercised warrants are dilutive and do you want the company to raise money at 2p?

Agree but I dont think a company could suspend the shares and force the warrants to expire while the shares were suspended. They would have to give a window for exercise when the shares came back from suspension, or at least that is the logical/fair view.

Hi DBW. There could be many reasons I suppose, August, low volumes, no news/plan, political risk, +ve cash flow ways away, no signals from BHP/NC, no permits, not clear drill results, cash burn. I think they used to call it 'stale bull liquidation' in my commodity days.
Not sure the majors will spend too much time focusing on st sp movements, another funding at >40p cant be out of the question.
I am more encouraged today than for a while, but dont see it as a get rich quick moment. More a get richer, slowly.

I know that NM has broadly said this before but now he has put a bit more meat on the bones, I can see the plan a bit more clearly now. Whether it comes off will to a large extent depend on how BHP sees things and whether they want more than 10-15% of the pie.
There is also the matter of a shortfall of about $55myn this year.
Its also interesting that they are building the drill pads, so they must know when they will get the permits.
So on the basis that everyone loves a guess at the future, how about: they announce permits say Sept 1st, sp goes up a bit, they announce another placement to BHP to get their funding for balance of year. Then it wont be long to MRE3 which may or may not include something for Blanca and Porvenir. As I say, just a guess.

Some valuations of undeveloped gold in the ground use a simple 10% of the market price. If so we have had a nice 15% improvement in the past 6months. I have been v bullish Au and think it has a chance of cracking the all time high this year. All IMHO of course!

Without wishing to sound in any way sanctimonious, I dont really understand why anyone would want to keep there hard earned savings with small and somewhat flaky organisations. HL and Barclays (which is where I keep my funds) may not be the cheapest nor the most innovative organisations but if they go bust then I think we will have many other problems to deal with.
