I would expect NC to announce after their close, and GGP to announce before their open. If timezones dont permit then NC can announce before their open, but neither should announce during their market hours though GGP often does, which I always think a bit amateur.
Of course what is material to GGP may not be material to NC.

No I dont think he is boxed in either. He has more control of the company than many CEOs do in this business.
GB, you may be right that I am overly pessimistic but I was trying to ascertain whether you had any facts behind your views. Given the lack of newsflow I dont think any of us know what is going on and I am just trying reiterate that and proving that by showing the other side of the coin. I am still a supporter and actually bought a few more today.
I am definitely jaded though and am spending a lot more time on GGP which I am starting to believe is a better company though different in size and opportunity, but maybe a better r/r.

GB. If I were JW I would have been straight round the ministry after the court case was resolved, to say 'you now owe me for the mess that you allowed to be created. Give us the permits!'
But we dont know if anything like that happened.
I remember that JW said that 5 out of 6 were complete. But we dont know how long the five took, nor how long the six phase might take. Logic would say that we are 5/6 of the way through, but we could just be 5% of the way through. I tried to get some clarification on this from Anna but she is ignoring me atm.
Sadly the company has used shortly many times and the only way I think they use shortly is in geological terms!!
Logic would make us assume that stuff should happen soon but I could have been saying that since Jan. Seems for some reason the company isnt interested in keeping the market up to date with the news and isnt interested in any sp increase. No idea why any of this would be the case unless everything was bad - and that shouldnt be the case as everything management has said has been positive.
Its all very odd and very wrong IMHO.

Hi Quady. If memory serves me the lockup includes Cornerstone, so any bid for that would release BHP from their lockup.
Most 'professionals' (fund managers who are invested) that I have spoken to believe its 'certain' that Solgold and/or Cascabel will be taken out by a consortium that will include, at the very least BHP and NC. I think they need each other for different reasons.
My strong preference is that as an alternative to Solgolds demise, NM can persuade the big boys to just take Cascabel and not the whole thing....

Agree, the only way NC will bid is if they have been tipped off that BHP will fold. Otherwise BHP with their much greater firepower may well take out NC as well as Solgold!
On the other hand NC, with so much interesting stuff going on at home in the Pilbara, may choose to concentrate on that and give BHP the green light here.
Even big companies have to prioritise sometimes.

Sounds like there is much work to do before they drill PRE. Mind you they have to start somewhere and this is all following a nice sequential pattern. Its great that they have all these going on simultaneously and I only hope they can continue right through this year w/o too much stoppage in the heat of next summer.

I get the feeling that the s/holders are being taken for fools and I for one don’t like it. No updates this year when last year they were pushing them out virtually every month.
They are very likely creating a false market by withholding price sensitive information.
Luckily my attention is elsewhere with GGP, a company that at least is open and honest with its S/holders.

I think it is quite wrong to say that miners don’t pay over the odds. They regularly do as at the top of the commodity cycle they have so much cash they feel forced to spend it on acquisitions only to retrench and have rights issues or fire sales at the bottom of the cycle.
It’s their enormous financial strength from the top of the cycle that keeps them going.

I have added today as this just keeps getting derisked with more assets producing tangible results. This isn’t about any one prospect now and to be able to buy at the price of the NC deal is insane, but thank you to the seller for allowing me to do so.

I am going to assume that she is referring to the 70,000m+ that has been drilled on Cascabel/Alpala since any decent drilling update. Unless of course there is some shallow/other drilling that doesnt require a permit.
I am still waiting on the answers to my questions.
