I would opine that this decision and clarification now puts the issue to bed once and for all. In fact it makes it clearer and takes away some of the political risk that I worried about. Not only has the court strengthened the legal position but all sorts of people (government and unions for starters) have strongly stated their case in support of mining.

I am not expecting the price to shoot up now, but I dont expect us to see the 20s again and slowly slowly we may get back to higher 30s.
I think Solgold/Anna needs now to address some issues and I will be emailing her today with my list!

I am not expecting £2 this year and probably not next year. Not sure any bid war would get it that high atm. But multiple drill successes coupled with a bidding war might, but I would guess that could be more than a year away and more than two if we don’t start drilling till 2020.
Some of this optimism is just that.
But as I often say it takes two views to make a market.....

From the analysts point of view they put v little value on the other 12 priority targets. I however expect/hope that we will find at least one more Alpala so obviously my price of £2.50 reflects something that is not in the slightest bit proven!

If Solgold are allowed to stay independent then I think it could be £2.50 in a few years. If its taken out then my worry is we will be lucky to get a quid.

I am not sure I see this as something very likely in the short term. I doubt whether any major was expecting this legal wrangle and so its unlikely that this latest decision will have lifted that uncertainty, that they didnt actually foresee anyhow. Plus I am not sure that the referendum issue has totally gone away, until and unless we read the full transcript from the court.
In some ways all the majors are playing a game of chicken. All would like to see Solgold de-risk the project before they move (and they will). None of them would want to move first unless they were sure they would win (and two of them cant move now anyhow, though Newcrest will be free to do so at the end of the summer I believe).
All the majors would rather pay more for something de-risked than take a punt on something still in the exploration phase.
I still dont believe Solgold can take this to production and with potential 1 for 1 dilution of the equity I am not sure that I would want that anyhow. But they need to keep saying that and do some of the work to prep that. Sadly, buying CGP may be part of that process.
I only hope that Solgold dont get too cute and end up losing the company to a bid which will be far below its potential, rather than my preference of selling Alpala/Cascabel to a major and giving half back to s/holders and using the other half on the 12 priority sites.
I thought this was a 2-5 year play 18months ago and I still think that holds true. So 6 months to 3.5 years to go!

Welcome back! It has occurred to me that maybe the court threw it out on a technicality to give the govt the time to pass some legislation so that this sort of thing cant happen again. It would make a lot of sense to have the issue resolved once and for all.

Morning Addicknt. I would agree with you, as usual. The RNS seems to have left a few questions and it would appear that there is the possibility of the illegal miners/eco warriors returning with a better worded petition to the court. Lets hope not but that threat may hang over the company and the share price for some time.
I hope that the news has given you a degree of comfort to return to the share register. We/I need your considered thought! ATB

May I add my personal thanks to Padmaster and a few others for their quality posts. The less said about some of the others the better IMHO - but most are filtered so that speeds up the reading.
I will read with interest as to how Solgold are going to spin this. From what I have read (and the translation is very difficult to understand), I wouldnt say that it is all over, but maybe the end of the beginning, or some other Churchillian phrase. Hopefully the underfunded illegal miners will just withdraw now, or better still start working for some legal miners.
For those that think this is going straight back up, I doubt it. Still plenty of uncertainty in my book, but at least its not bad news.Good luck everyone.

There was an article in 'Seeking Alpha' that I saw yesterday that made a case for gold going to $3,000, $6,000 and even $10,000 (in 10 years) if it were to break through $1400 and then the old highs of $1800.
If memory serves me this site/publication are know for big/outrageous calls so probably a pinch of salt needed. But just $3,000 would transform GGP if there were anything like a positive drilling campaign. With all the usual caveats of course.

Who knows why NM said it. I cant believe it was a slip of the pen. Either stage 6 takes ages, or Jason knows more about the minutiae of stage 6 than NM does. Alternatively its a calculated risk by saying 'we arent going to drill anywhere else till you get this nonsense sorted out once and for all'. Its a ballsy call but then NM likes to play the odds.
The old 37/38 range has been supplanted with one 10p lower..

Not sure one could say that its 'obvious'. It may be likely but that will depend on the drill results. Most people on here think they will be good drill results but would anyone have an opinion as to what 'good' will look like and equally what 'bad' would be?

Agree Cookie. Given that this company is all and only about drilling results at the moment, I am as bemused at why any selling s/holder bought in the first place as to why they are selling now. If this isnt the time to own the shares I am not sure when it is.

I agree with you that it would be nice to see some director buying, but I doubt whether they would be in a position to do so. There is so much drilling going on and so much news about that and other matters that have not been released to the market that they are undoubtedly in possession of price sensitive, non public information.
If we saw a huge release of information to the market, that could lead to some buying but I doubt that will happen.
I am still holding all my shares, not sold any and still plan to sell when Nick does.My only concern is that its tying up a lot of capital that I should be enjoying spending in my dotage!

Addicknt. I always read your posts with interest and reading between the lines it would suggest that you are no longer invested. I think you are right that the sp will move significantly on any news. Not sure how many will be able to buy if this is resolved in minings favour. Equally it may fall further to the point where risk/reward is more finely balanced. I am not sure anyone really knows where the sp could go, as we were never really sure on the upside either.
I suppose it would be good to see some buying from BHP/NCM or the management, but I suspect that unlikely. However I wouldnt put it past the Chinese to see this as a great economic investment where they can play the political card too.

Well if he is 'in the know' then GGP, their brokers or IR need to get an RNS out asap. This is misleading the market imho. The results of any drilling will cause the sp to rise a lot or fall a little and if someone thinks they KNOW what the results are then the sooner the world knows the better.

And porvenir has always been NMs favourite of the prospects.

Whether its right or wrong I am not sure but I learn more from Jason than NM. He just gives a better feeling for the prospectivity and the excitement in his voice contrasts sharply with NM who is like me giving a presentation - and I know I am bad!
If we can get the legal issue behind us, I think it highly likely that the govt will want to 'reward' the miners who have permit applications pending, with a flurry of approvals. All IMHO DYOR blah blah.
