Red, I really dont know, hence the post. Could anyone have a stab at what drilling would cost at Porvenir, vs say Alpala?

So all this increased drilling at Porvenir will cost money. Plus the start up at La Hueca and maybe Rio Amarillo. Do we have enough money for this? Dont forget that the FN funds cannot be used for exploration drilling elsewhere.
So given that NM didnt mention financing is it because:
1. He has enough
2. He knows that BHP are going to take Alpala/Cascabel off his hands
3. BHP is going to take it all and he is just trying to get the sp higher as the deal is a multiple of sp
4. A new deal with FN that will allow him to use the new funds to do exploration drilling, or
5. Something else?
What fun - and I havent said that for a few years here!

GH said that Goliath will either be something spectacular or a load of granite and we would be mad not to find out which. But there appears to be a drill order and maybe that is probability of success not size of prospect?

Iceberg, many thanks. So an open pit is quite possible. Couldnt quite see how they could do that in Alpala style topography. Might create a problem with the environmentalists but thats a long way down the road.
This should be a fun ride now, for the next few months.

Does anyone know what the topography is like around Porvenir? Is it like Alpala (very hilly) or flatter?
Other thought is that if you were a CGP sh, wouldnt you be dumping the shares today and switching into Solgold now? Especially if the numpties on the CGP bod continue to refuse the offer, which is now over generous imo.

A few p on the sp wont put BHP off. They now see (if they hadnt seen it two years ago) that the acreage is uber prospective. This validates the Solgold exploration teams theories and thus makes us more attractive. The sp increase is hardly greater than the value of todays news on Porvenir, of that I think we would all agree. So the under valuation has increased too.

Morning Quady. Another question. Do you think these results make it more or less likely BHP will bid.
IMHO it certainly doesnt reduce the liklihood, and as for me that is already very high, so I would say its just increased it a bit.

Its a pity they cant get the assays done before the BHP standstill expires. They need as much info out asap to get this sp much higher. A defence will be a lot easier for NM now, but equally it might be easier for even him to realise that he has a future as an explorer, should BHP make an offer sh cant refuse.

Hopefully Ingo thinks the following is exciting news:
He announces the resignation of NM, becomes the interim ceo and puts the company up for sale and immediately starts negotiating with BHP.
Then we can all put this sorry mess (not the asset, the company) behind us and move on to something that truly might be exciting.

Is this EGM going to happen? I dont recall CGP nominating any replacement directors as yet. Presumably they have to give notice. Must be a put up or shut up clause? Seems to me spurious in the extreme, by that well managed company that is CGP.

A little while ago when a few of us were asking sprott to comment on GGP, Craig would say that 'Eric cant comment cos he doesnt know the company'. I would think that is still the case. Eric the man and Sprott the company are quite separate these days.

I thought he said this much earlier in his Q&A, and not in relation to the FN fund raising. More in relation to the long term views of mining majors.

Good morning. Can you explain this to me please. Yesterday Ingo said that something along the lines of 'we know that BHP and Newcrest arent in this for a 15% stake'. So the take from that is that they will either own more or less.
Which one do you think that is?
