Mark, you are partly correct. This was a convo between various levels of the two companies (mainly geos I think) that was held at the time of negotiating the Hav farmout/in deal. NC have always been very excited about Scally, perhaps more so than they were initially about Hav.

Addicknt, we might not want BHP off the register, but I think NM might. Its becoming a multi dimensional fascinating situation. Trying to work out what I want and what NM might want, coupled with what we know about CGP, and dont know about BHP and NC. I think FN would be rightly and mightily upset if Alpala were to be relegated to an also ran with little or no progress. So it needs to be hived off or sold to a major who can develop it. Solgold clearly dont have the management time or expertise or numbers when there is so much else to do that could be transformational to the sp.
I really dont like spec divis, cos of the tax consequences. Much rather have buy backs.

Addicknt, you are the corp finance expert on here, but I am sure I have seen deals done where major assets have been sold to major investors in return for their shareholding being cancelled. I stand corrected if I am dreaming.

I get the distinct impression that the short term (and possibly the long term) is all about the exploration upside. Alpala is mentioned but its not the only thing to talk about any more. After the failed (thankfully) deal with CGP, I am even more convinced that NM would give up Alpala, to get BHP/NC off his back, if he is any way serious about this company having a lt future.
So sell the stake in ENSA, cancel the BHP/NC shares and use the abundance of cash to prove that Alpala is small fry compared to the upside from everything else. I bought more today.

New update out. No change in target price of 128 though they do say increasing upside risk to this estimate if Porvenir lives up to its early promise.
Strange use of words ‘upside risk’. I would have said ‘upside potential’......
Anyone done any numbers on Porvenir value? I did and came up with some astonishing numbers so wonder how much one could guess is mineralised? A lot less than I put in!!

Quady, obviously we have a number of differences in opinion, but the main one I think is that you think NM is in control of the situation and the outcome, whatever it is, will be whatever he wants it to be.
I think NM lost control when he brought NC and BHP in. To his credit he gave himself 2 years to get the sp higher. Which he has succeeded in doing, in the 102-104th weeks.

Quady, I think I know! Is it because NM doesnt want a bid and wants to take this to production in ten years time? And as we all know, whatever NM wants he gets regardless of price, buyer and shareholder opinion.
