Come on when has there ever been factual news, this £2m going back to shareholders is going to be pie in the sky isn't it.

By the time they have paid all the extra unknown costs etc i betting there will be almost nothing left so I wouldn't bet on the SP or pay back being anywhere near 1p, so you could be throwing more money down the drain by buying more even at 0.4p.

Well Holmes would say that wouldn't he as I believe he was also fired, so he's just trying to get his own back.

Yes I think that is a good sign for a BOD's to keep looking for other growth areas to benefit from, just shows they are not just sitting on their bum's and being pro-active

Is this sell off over the last few days just a few large shareholders playing safe with the results coming up next week.

Lets hope they are very good and we will be getting a good divi rather than being poor.

Hi baid-eagle, yes it does seem strange doesn't it but I guess they see this as a big growth area .

It says they have /will invest £3m and take a stake but it doesn't say what their stake is as a %, so maybe they will just sit on that % and at some stage down the line maybe a few years sell off their share for millions and give us shareholders a big fat divi of £1 a share, then I would be happy.

You don't know that nor does the city it could have been 50p , that's the point no one knows.

Hi Blinky, so just where did you get the info that said it was a serious bid, !!!!! No one knows that and it's just wishful thinking, we do know a bid of some sorts was talked about but NO firm bid was made and like many other Apollo bids they wern't prepared to foffer more than they thought was a good deal for them and so THG called it.

IF like many the bid was over a pound don't you think the city would be valuing THG more than 60p ish now. No this could still fall more to 45p ish .

Who says apollo hasn't finished, you must have seen in the press about a week ago where it listed about 6-8 bids apollo has made for companies and then walked away.

The always seem to put a fixed price they will pay for another company that must be a good bargin to them and if they don't get that price they walk.

Well isn't that what they have just done to THG , so I think you can now say apollo has finished and walked away.

Been looking at these for about 6 months trying to decide if one should buy these or AO , and even afyter their results which showed sales down but maybe long term look better.

But the city just don't seem to want to get behind curry's and push up the SP and maybe we all think they are worth 75p in the long term but still think they could go dwon to high 40's so I guess I will stay on the sidelines a little longer.

You might well be correct , but the trouble seems to be that the city and other big shareholders don't seem to care about making any changes at the top.

So just will it take to make any of that happen. I guess they are all fine as long as the Divi keeps being paid at these or higher levels. I am happy with that for now but do expect the SP to creep back up to 80's -90's very soon.

Looks like BT is also now going to cut overheads with thousands of staff being cut just when all phone /broadband companies jack up prices to all of about 14%, are VOD & BT run by the same people.?

So at last we have finished the share buy backs and just in time for results in a week or so when they will announce a big rise in profits with a Divi of 4p and the start of the SP rise back up to £1.40.

It's about time we got back to where it should be, as like many I have been sitting on these for a few years now and got nothing back in return.

Just can't see why so many buys from people companies throwing their money away. How can the SP be worth more than 1p if that.

After more in depth work by strike you can bet your life there will be more overheads / cost with this deal and there won't be anything left to return to shareholders, and NOT anywhere near 2p.

Well as expected I guess they need to do something to drive the business, but Divi still the same and after a small fall I would expect the SP to move back up. After all the city love companies that cut staff and costs.

Manyfesto, No one knows what the price offer was and it certainly wasn't multiples of todays price.

Apollo never made any firm offer as far as anyone knows. all just hype

So if MM wants to buy THG and take it private again why would he or other directors buy now to keep the SP up, surely it's in his interest to let it drop as much as possibleeven back to the 30's.

It may seem as boom but total rev was down 8% H1 and down 7% full year. Still a way to go yet.
