To be frank, I was surprised the SP reached over £4. I expected it to remain in the late 370's until closer to the results.

Optimistically, I think the results will exceed expectations. I only say this because a sophisticated FD would have, before now, been tempering over sanguine analysts: the fact this doesn't seem to have happened would(I hope) make one feel the company is going to do a 'Next' and surprise the market.

The other day one particularly obnoxious individual was forecasting a massive slump in the SP. This has not happened....rather the reverse. My point is this. Those knowing little about investment or, indeed, the mental state of the poster of that advice, might have been panicked into selling. May I point out the FCA waring at the bottom of this page in relation to market abuse. It is quite irresponsible of certain posters to give unrequited advice purely on some misconceived notion.

Thanks for this. Yes, you are correct. Whatever impact this has won't affect the FY results. It would be of interest to see how cyber attacks affect other quoted companies: I suspect in a very transitory way. The good thing is that this attack doesn't seem to have been savage and has put management on the alert for the future. I wonder if there is cover for these attacks?

Could not agree more. This government and the previous seem just disinterested in manufacturing maybe because no one in gov or civil service has a clue about it! It is not as if we are bad at tech industry. RR is a classic example of just how good we are.

Even if a trader I would be nervous of dodging in and out before results.

For my part I wonder what impact it will have on FYR results. I suspect little. I am not any trader and will be holding for at least a couple of years so will stick with this great company and wish it the best in getting it sorted
