Will Whitehor, the chairman is a a mere ex Virgin PR man. How did he get the job?

I dropped by to see whether FordM was still active on this board. He is, so I won’t be returning.

I genuinely value the insights and information shared here. What puzzles me is that Ford also claims to be a shareholder in BP and RR, yet on those boards he posts exactly the same political diatribes, with little or no reference to the companies themselves.

In other words, he appears to be using the platform as a vehicle for his personal political views rather than for discussion of the stocks in question. That seems to run contrary to the purpose of the LSE boards.

For what it’s worth, I’ve emailed Claire at info@lse.co.uk to point out that Ford’s posts on RR, BP and Wizz are largely interchangeable and often bear no meaningful connection to the companies being discussed. One individual, who appears to have little genuine interest in any of these businesses, can significantly diminish the value of the forum for everyone else.

Whether it has any effect remains to be seen, but if others are equally tired of the constant off-topic posting, it may be worth raising the issue with LSE as well.

JJ yes, I am with you on FTSE 100. I am risk averse.

It's interesting to see the stocks others here are invested in. I had an idea which I thought interesting. Retired analysts, in general, probably manage their own portfolios. For example, a retired retail analyst, will still follow the sector and will have maintained contacts with still working colleagues and even the top management of retailers. If one could aggregate them and possibly, investment managers, one would have an amazing source of share intelligence. What do you all think? If that resource existed would you use it?

Dave, I think the interesting aspect to this company is the deepening moat it is digging. I suspect its customer base is more or less immune to the the vagaries of the economy. Waitrose just doesn't seem to be able to catch up. I am not an expert on clothing as I rarely buy stuff but I imagine they need to do more

I suspect the analysts will be feeling distinctly relieved and consequently rather more positive with clients today. Though any such optimism necessarily depends upon Burnham, poster boy for the economically and commercially pig-ignorant left, refraining from his usual instinct to interfere and make matters worse.

You evoke my ire through your constant SP forecasting. It is extremely dangerous to newcomers and the less experienced. You have a tendency to do with with other stocks. You should refrain. And, incidentally, I am not a newcomer and even if I were it doesn't inhibit me from calling you out. Please stop making price forecasts
