Ford, can you recommend any good defence stocks? I have BAe, who make the amazing Storm Shadow. I am really looking for a US maker as I am sure the US will be spending much more on defence. Any thoughts?

RollsRoycer, yours is an outstanding comment. A business is only as good as its employees, products and leaders. RR has all these in abundance. I am down quite on paper as are other investments, but I have every confidence in this great company. Mark, Trump has miscalculated but something has to be done about a terror regime like Iran, which backs violent terrorist groups that destabilise the world and oppress its people. An example of its savagery is this. Shoper Shia extremist doctrine says that if a virgin is executed, she will go to heaven. So, this girl, whom they want to hang(strangle to death) is likely to be raped before being executed to ensure she goes to hell. These are the sort of brutal crazies we are dealing with. So, what about N. Korea? It is a client state of China and will never act without China's consent. Mark, you really should not try to invest yourself: it is really affecting you.

We are all invested in a world class company . Yes, if you are a trader it is concerning but not intelligent investors like Blackrock are in panic etc. RR will come back with force. It always does. It's a superb example of a British company and engineering excellence and I am bored with the whining abiut the volatility

Badland, thanks very much. Really appreciated. What it does make you do is try to help young people with a bit of balls get on. Sometimes they have no one to give advice to and schools are clueless. I get v annoyed with parents encouraging to take a useless degree and then find no job and a huge debt when they would be far better off learning an AI proof trade. I am not sure I would want my son to go thru what I went thru!

How tedious it must be to go through life assuming that success is something that happens to other people. Allow me to disappoint you further.

I left school at 15 with nothing but an appetite for hard work — a concept I appreciate may be somewhat alien to you. After a colourful variety of occupations, I found my way into financial PR. Years of rather intense effort followed, at the end of which I sold the company. It is now among the larger firms in the sector. You may have heard of the concept.

I note you and Ford share the same instinct — to belittle what you cannot be bothered to achieve yourselves. My advice, offered entirely without charge, is this: try hard work. Try ingenuity. You might astonish yourselves. Though on reflection, I fear the experiment is unlikely to be attempted, let alone to succeed

Ford, look, I am happy to organise a whip around amongst members here. We have all made huge amounts of money investing. A few of us might bung you a few quid to buy some shares. One of my favourites is Bae. Sadly, I didn't make £750k. I will talk to my tax man. I think it was 30% free of tax. I hate paying too much tax, knowing its going on benefits scroungers and asylum seekers when we should be boosting defence. What's your view?

Ford, with the greatest sincerity many here want the very best for you. I know you don't feel the therapy is working but it 'works if you work it'. Yours is not a hopeless: others with OCD have recovered. The problem with you coming on this site is that it's very focused on those of us making money out of a partial defence company. There are chat sites which you could engage with and share your views. I just get the feeling that members here are, in the main, red blooded right wing capitalists. Mark. you forget for years Iran has terrorised, murdered and tortured its people. It also funds the Houthis, Hamas and Hezzbollah and any other terror organisation. You care only about yourself and your RR shares. Others care about their childrens future when/if Iran goes nuclear.

Mark, sorry, but with RR 18 months back I was down a huge amount. I am not a rich man like Retirement and it hurt me. However, I knew it was a great company and would come back. You have obviously invested too much in one stock and that is not a good idea.
