Working class people in Makerfield came out for a right-wing party in huge numbers. OK, they still lost, but this just shows even traditional Labour voters want to screw Labour. Soon Labour voters will only be found in Islington. Like the Tories they will be consigned to the dustbin of political history. Do I like Farage? Having met him years ago, not especially. Jimjam, you have answered the question as to his record in Manc. Let's put it another way. Bond markets feel he will be anti business. Now, you may think the markets are wrong but at the end of day their opinion-not yours or mine, matter. The bond markets will be very unhappy were Burnham to become PM.

Reform will walk it as Labour has no constituency. The fact that Reform took the most traditional Lab areas should have made that clear. Those on benefits, Muslims and immigrants have moved to green. Lab has bugga all left!

I am trying to objective but struggle to understand what makes you so confident he will be a good PM. The bond markets certainly don't like uncertainty but they abhor the idea of a free spending anti business PM like Burnham

Forest...so tell us why you think Burnham will be good for the economy. Do you mean the benefits economy or the economy serving the immigrant community? I am genuinely interested especially as global investors don't seem to feel he is someone to bet on.

Most are in that flush of enthusiasm as they try to find a job. The job market for the talented young is contracting fast and the reason is not just AI. It is because the very people we need-those who create jobs are on the march out of the country. Carrington mentions that soon we will struggle to pay the interest on debt. It could soon be we can't afford to pay the interest on the interest. Meanwhile, the Eastern European countries' economies are flying.

Buddsod suggested that at this level, MKS was fairly valued according to metrics and poured scorn on analysts by suggesting their forecasts were generally inaccurate. Thinking Buddsodd was an investing genius I looked at his portfolio of stocks thinking I should follow his lead. When I asked Claude to assess Budd's portfolio he was not very complimentary and said it was a mixed bag performance wise so I won't be listening too much to Budd
