For once tr64 I kind of agree with you. It is a strange decision to retain 20%, they effectively become a blocking shareholder or a kingmaker if there is a bid for healthcare. They will also have undue say on healthcare policy being able to block or propose resolutions.
it is also like a spouse retaining 20% of you in a divorce in case you get a promotion.

A clean break is what is needed to allow both companies to thrive independently.by locking up 20% of healthcare entitlements in the pharma company shareholders cannot invest ina pure pharma business.

The good news keeps on coming on the pharma pipeline.
I did fear there could be a switch to GSK last week, but they made little progress and AZN stormed onwards and upwards.
Alexion Q2 results will be worth watching to see if AZN has bagged a decent and improving business at a fair price. The deal seems to be progressing well with the various regulators. Although hard to see where competition issues exist between those two businesses.

The Board has not lost on their october 20 buys at just over 600. It would be good to see another concerted buy and inline numbers at the Next results.

The presentations make an interesting listen/ although rather lengthy and somewhat repetitious.
I am hoping there will be some upgrades coming out this week followed by some good numbers.
The battery installations appear to start operating in 2022. It seems they have a 5-6 year payback which of it is a 10year plus asset will be excellent.
My utility provider uses them for new meters so I may experience their service first hand soon.
Their behind the meter offering seems behind others at the moment…..we are getting an electric car later this year and need a charger installed…another opportunity.

There may be a traumatic period for all CK related stocks when LKS passes away.
In reality he stepped back from running the group for quite some time, but it will be a seminal moment when commentators and the businesses ask what will victor Li do next.…

The EV for EZJ is about the same as prepandemic……however a lot of value must have been lost in the last 18m and looking forward unless you believe EZJ will have significant pricing power and capacity, this does not seem quite right.
I sold last time it reached £10. I may buy back later this year if under £8. But think they will be sub £10 in 2 years time…..too much debt and too many new shares issued in the pandemic for this to rise quickly…..unless there is a speculative bubble.

Amones, I think I might have suggested there could be a fall, that was purely based on investors taking profits from staging the issue. A 20% gain may be irresistible to some.
A predictive indicator might be the publication tomorrow of a reallocation between the local and global offering and the allocation levels to individuals.
Hopefully there will be a significant oversubscription to both legs, but what the trading on day one will be is still anyone’s guess.

It does not really matter what the Sp is on a single day…..and I am not going to sell/buy for a quick profit.
I am sure there will be some profit takers at the outset……they can hardly believe they can get 20% profit……but you would think those bidding up the SP last week will buy on weakness…..
Who knows what pulls there will be when the shares are traded…..
We can be reasonably sure the overallotmemt option will be taken by the banks….easy money for them.

If the sp is around this level at the HY results we should be pleased……with all the recent good news I do want to see a sales uplift/guidance to the top end.

13 was lucky for a long period of time…..until Li Ka-shing started his PRivate equity operation Horizon ventures…..he deemed these opportunities not suitable for a listed entity and has profited mightily while the listed companies were seen as old fashioned.
I think CK retained the number.
I look forward to the day when HCM has a higher value than its parent…..although that will be hard to achieve if CKHH retains a 30%+ stake.

I highlighted it because there is a much higher prevalence of NETs in the population than the level diagnosed per the company presentation. Such testing may lead to a greater diagnosis at an earlier stage of disease. This should be a double win, more patients for longer and improved patient outcomes.
Improvements to the identification of disease could drive the fortunes of companies such as HCM in specific disease settings.

Last year there was a trading update on 24 July and full results 24 Sept.
No reason to expect anything different this year.
Apr update was positive…..valuation is high in expectation of growth….hopefully the results are excellent to bring the P/E ratio down quite a lot.
Not expecting much in the way of gains as already fully valued.

The HK applications closed on Tuesday.
there seemed to be some barriers to PI participation to restrict it to locals.
I doubt any of us can now buy at the offer price!

Overall about 25% of OMU is its holding in Nedbank.
The NED share price has increased 4x since lows of last year which means OMU is trading in low 52p plus 18p Nedbank. The distribution is currently just over 11p per share.
When OMU was about 110-120p, Ned was about 30p.
That the regulators are happy to reduce the investment shows they are comfortable with the balance sheet of the group…..security is their first priority…..OMU is secure and market confidence should mean trading improvements flow quickly into the SP.
There is a risk they will make more covid provisions, but these should be lower than in the past and operating cash flow looks robust to be able to cope f they do without impacting the capital position of the company.
Overall I think the outlook is improving.

It is a continuation of the deconstruction of the old mutual group.
Nothing wrong in giving it to SH. The distribution makes up about 16% of the current Value.
Last time it happened, my platform did a bulk sale about 3m after that I opted into.
There are three options
Receive and hold Nedbank
Receive and sell nedbank or
Sell before the distribution

It depends how your shares are held and whether you want to hold A South African bank directly.
I will review in October…..if the sp has gained i May just take profits and buy back after the distribution.

Management holding a capital markets day today is a positive.
It should remind the market of the scale of the opportunity which is extensive supported by environmental policy.
Still a buy for me…
