Evening mate, easily done on the sell too quicks, some of them go up and back down too quick so it's not surprising we do sell early!! The sipp isn't new money, just previous contributions I moth-balled when the last government moved the dates from 50 to 55years,but going to use those funds to trade a bit and leave the existing stuff. If I wS going away for a month or two,I'd put the funds into the cheapest and best yielders before I leave and then spread the rest of the funds equally amongst the best and favourite specs and leave it to chance!!! I've dabbled with hawk amongst others but my only chunky aims are vog and nvta, loads of other little hopefuls but they all look the same really, waiting for this or that and that's why I'd do the spread rather than consolidated bets if there's a chance you're not around to keep an eye. Still have a few cosalt but no big hopes really. The cruise sounds good mate, away from everything and everyone. Bricks and mortar is ultimately the most useful investment but plenty of variables there and if you're away a lot maybe next holding off a bit. Not putting 'new' money into the sipp by the way as I wouldn't be surprised if whichever government moves the goalposts again to 60 or whatever, tax breaks aside, once the 'trust' is gone.......! Good to hear from you again and good luck with the choices, these I'm quite confident on and a friend sent me some research that I'll post here tomorrow from work(on the iPhone at moment).
