Cracking entry point and off the top i think a divi in the pipeline already. I've recently set up all my holdings for div-reinvestment so will report back when a few more appear on the tally. I used to have land securities which i bought right for about a fiver a year or so back but sold so also glad to have got back in these not far off your entry point and land too exp now in my opinion. I've been looking at segro and songbird too recently but havent done anything on them yet,both seem cheap but not sure on the yields and all that.

Fell back a bit with the market this pm by the looks of it but the day high was threatening to get us into the 3,s(where we belong!!). Would be good to get into the 3,s before Wednesday's interim but not likely I suspect.

I don't think the tax is any different for us lot as holders but as a REIT,my understanding is they pay out more in divs than if they were a plc,we're on quarterly ones on these. My only gray area is whether they do div reinvestment or not as a REIT and whether that makes any difference but either way they're good solid ones to keep and good yielders,good value below 530 and a screaming buy with a 4 in front,in my opinion,good luck.

Looking good here,progressive dividend policy and growth in the cyber side,a few orders from our foreign friends should get a 3 in front.....break up bid would be better!!!! GLA

'below radar' rise today,let's hope we're into the 3,s or not far off it before the interim!!

there is a strong argument that being 'tooled up' militarily wins the moral high ground as it provides a deterrent to war itself as well as a solution to the worlds numerous little disputes. Problem is by looking at the 'ethical' side of investing,where do you draw the line between practicality and good intentions? Does one choose not to invest in oil due to pollution,or does one choose a company that balances exploitation with good standards? Fact is bae are at the sharp end of negative sentiment but doing something about it,cutting costs,protecting more jobs by shedding some jobs,buying into niche cyber-tech,buybacks,excellent yield....plenty of reasons to invest and in an uncertain world which idealism never grasps,we will always need weapons but it's not having the gun,it's whether and how one uses it....in my humble opinion.....

Its all in the price,keeping mine and topping up sub-3 quid wherever possible. The scenarios in the brokers note who knows, i,m in for the well-covered yield and no doubt longterm recovery,good luck

BAE shares have underperformed over the past three years, leaving them on a low P/E and a high yield. However, despite these low ratios, they could continue to underperform on concerns over defence budget cuts, particularly in the US and the UK as these two countries account for some 70% of group sales. Management has pledged a series of measures, including bolt-on acquisitions, cost reduction, share buybacks and higher dividends, but these do not appear to have had any positive impact on the stock price. We believe that a radical move is required to reverse the share-price decline and in this note we advocate a complete reversal of the group’s long-held strategy in order to unlock the substantial ‘hidden value’ within the group’s business portfolio – we propose that BAE’s management take the bold step of de-merging the US activities. SG Equity Strategists have added BAE Systems to the SG Premium List. De-merging the US businesses should allow the market to value the two resulting groupings on their individual merits and this could provide an immediate uplift in the valuation of some 36%. Furthermore, an independent ‘BAE Inc.’ could then generate further value for shareholders by merging with or selling itself to one of the US defence companies, releasing a further 10%-20% of value. A similar strategy was successfully pursued by General Dynamics in the last major defence downturn in 1991 and yielded total shareholder returns of over 500% between 1991 and 1994! Setting a target price and recommendation is particularly tricky as we have a potentially binary situation – a 280p target price ( our previous TP) and our prior ‘Hold’ rating would look right if management took no action, but if management were to undertake a radical transformation this could potentially provide an initial 36% uplift. Our scenario assumes a 40% probability of some corporate restructuring, which takes our target price to 330p, based on a SoTP approach, giving nearly 20% upside and raising our recommendation to Buy. We would argue that ‘do nothing’ is not a viable option against a backdrop of a protracted period of defence cuts.

I didn't know about the aim exclusion there mate,cheers for that info. Yes the bottom drawer gets bigger and more diverse as time goes on! Microfocus I think I've had before on one of their profit warning over-reactions but not the other one,will have a look. Frankly mate,the last few weeks have been just like the 2008 debacle but have added a few more bae,aviva too and topped up on lloyds(never get the bottom on those!),added some more mwana and some total rubbish like yell,jpr,asto.....'you never know' kind of stuff really,but you're so right on the divs. Spent my cw and cwc divs on lloyds probably,took them off scrip in my sipp as the scrip price was about 50p,seems a long time ago!!! Happy with these,av,rsl and sl due to the divs and the mixed bags they hold themselves make them a bit like unit trusts in a way!! Let's hope the ftse decides to get back to the 5800-6200 range it held recently and these clamber back to the 130,s soon. I got a few more fweb too,under 50 I think,but slightly concerned the IC had them as a buy tip last week lol!!! Catch up soon mate

Cheers for clarification there mate,have got these,aviva,standard life and resolution so gets a bit confusing on dates but all yielding nicely!! Also note fweb isn't too far away,have added a few recently for yield. Bae also well up there in the div-chasing stakes and sainsburys of all things projecting 18p next year which makes a 3 quid buy (or sub better) part of the six percent club,and less likely to drop as cw and tcg have done whilst chasing divs......longterm and all that.

Not bad mate,like most people somewhat bemused by the falls in the last week or so but have made token top ups in the good ones here and there. This is suddenly one of my bigger ones,the lure of the divi once again. Glad to see the cooks bouncing a bit but still 50% down on them. Holding fibreweb,ifl etc etc in my collection in the sipp but not many,just a scattergun. Biggest aims are vog,mwana and the green buses currently. Yes i did remember your gsk views from the bby days!!! Hopefully you,ve converted some of that cash into under-valued stuff ready for the big bounce(hopefully any kind of bounce!!!). Tenon like the cooks just tucked away in the expansive recovery fund now along with my disasterous lloyds 58p entry point,hmmm,they looked cheap at the time lol!! Catch up soon mate,am mostly on cazd these days(a de-listed share board!).

Well well,glad to see you've popped up on the only one of mine I got right this week!! I've been buying as an income play and went a bit bonkers adding as I figured with a decent set of results and such a high yield it's got to be better than some of the recent disasters I've got stuck with(tenon and Thomas cook predominantly!!). And you'll be pleaded to hear I flogged my gsk(bagged the div first though) for a load more of these,bae systems and marstons. I seem to remember yonks ago you didn't approve of gsk? Anyway hope you're doing okay mate,catch up sometime.

Crikey,i,d pretty much written these off mate and now on top of the risers board!!! Had a quick peruse of the rns and looks interesting,havent got enough to get really excited but glad to see a smidge of profit at last,aware of where they were a year or two back....we can dream!!! Asked my broker and he reckons they will end up being cancelled as its not common practice to buyback and then sellback,or odds on for some employee incentive scheme.
